Best WLM Reviews
I stayed here for one night the last week of February. The hotel is clean and very basic. I had to check in late and it was actually snowing in Tucson that evening so I was happy to get into my room and get unpacked and get into bed. I found the room key, which is a real key, kind of a sign of the age of the place. You just don't see that very much anymore! Anyway, my adventure in the jungle started at about 2 AM when the power went out in the room. I thought maybe it was just something I did, but then I realized that the entire room was without power and there was no one at the front desk to check with, so that was another issue. No matter! The room was a good rate! I figured that the power would be back on shortly. Not so, I found myself at six in the morning using my iPhone flashlight to take a cold shower, I guess the water heater must be electric as well.|I would probably stay there again. It's kind of a funky hotel, but nice and clean.
In an older area of town. Used to be quite a sketchy neighborhood, but that has been cleaned up as of late. ||The motel is older but looks like it has been updated somewhat recently with new tile in the bathroom, HD-TV (free cable including HBO and ESPN). Free WiFi (which I didn't try) and an outdoor pool that looked very clean (the pool is right next to the highway, so might be a bit noisy -- didn't go swimming as it was raining). The in-wall A/C unit worked and was fairly quiet as these types of units go (seemed newer than others I've seen in similarly priced places). The walls between the rooms (at least on the ground floor) are made of BRICK! We heard nothing from the rooms on either side (I know they were occupied), even in the morning with flushes and showers. The carpet is showing signs of age, but my bare feet felt comfortable on it (some older motels seem to use something that makes my feet itch or feel burned - not here).||I was a bit skeptical after reading the other reviews, but we had a very nice experience. Neither English or Spanish is the proprietor's first language, so a language barrier could have let to other's less-than-optimal experiences. We had no problem. We even went back late morning because we left a phone charger in the room and they accommodated is with no problem (phone charger found!). ||SO, FOR-THE-PRICE, this was an excellent experience. We'll go here again if we're in that area of town.
We had a double bedroom. The room was a bit dated, but the beds were decent which was nice. We didn't see any bugs. If you wanted ice you had to get it from the office before 10 pm. So far, so good. However, I would hesitate to leave the room unattended. The last day we left and came back, and someone who worked at the motel, because they had to have had a key, had stolen our double chocolate chip muffins. There were two of them and they were gone without a trace. At this point we haven't noticed anything else missing. We never gave permission for someone to enter the room, nor does the motel have do not disturb signs. The first morning we were there they did call to ask if we wanted room service, which we declined. But nothing the following days. When confronted, the owner/manager told us that the cleaning lady would be back later the next morning (after we would have checked out), but from the way the conversation went nothing will probably come of it. At least it was muffins, and not something expensive.
THIEVES!!! I stayed in this curry smelling flea bag for a weekend during the Gem Show and, like all second rate motels, their prices was jacked up for the tourists. The staff was helpful enough and the room wasn’t too dirty but they charged me a $50 deposit which I never got back. The manager always had some story as to why I haven’t got it back yet.Find value for your money elsewhere because they’ll steal it from you here.
For a cheap place in a bleak neighborhood, this place was a pleasant surprise. Beds were comfy, the front desk was friendly, and everything was clean .... like, amazingly clean. Carpet looked new-ish, bedding had that fresh linen smell, towels were bright white, no lingering ancient dust in the corners left from lazy vacuuming. And the TV was set to display the correct aspect ratio, which is always nice and all too rare.
To be honest I didn't expect much for this low rate. After my check in at the very sparse Lobby room I was a little bit skeptical. But upon arrival I checked out the room and noticed that it was super clean. I always look very closely at the bathroom and this one was spotless. It may have had a Fresh coat of paint but it was pure white with practically no dirt stains anywhere. Very minimal room but well worth the low price
Would no star this motel if I could. The female desk clerk was super rude for no reason and asked my husband how we are married if we don't have the same last name. Unprofessional. Room was mostly clean but smelled horribly of bleach. Towels, bed sheets, pillow cases all stunk of bleach. No tub stopper, and she tried to charge us extra for children that were listed on our reservation. Charged a $50 dollar security deposit that was not explained on reservation. My husband left his ID at the desk and she called us and before I could thank her she hung up on me. Do not recommend this motel for anyone.
The staff were friendly and the room was nice and clean. The only minor negative was no circulation vent in the bathroom. All we had was a little window that slid open, but we kept it closed due to us being able to hear the people who lived directly behind the motel out in their backyard. We just kept the door open for circulation. Other than that, good experience.
