Ordered pizza for the first time from here on a Sunday afternoon. Worst pizza ever had! Italian pizza is not thick doughy crust.....no flavor at all, minimal sauce, too much cheese, no flavor on top at all. Italians are awesome, but pizza absolutely not.
The short, middle-aged lady at the register does NOT want to be there. I felt a little guilty giving her my food order, as though it might cause her emotional and physical pain to type it in and start it, and I was mostly the only customer. I think I see why. The sandwich was at least decent. Minor side-note: I was looking for a trash can in that main room but there isn't one. Overall recommendation: Avoid.
I’m a huge fan of Amato’s, but this Westbrook location is a disaster. We’ve stopped here a few times since March of this year and each time it just got worse. We came in last month and were so disgusted that we will no longer stop at this one. The woman cashier was rude, interrupted us while trying to tell our order, didn’t let me even finish before moving on to the next item and had a permanent scowl on her face. My sandwich was made to the order I could give, but when I unwrapped it, it was a mess. Whoever made it slapped a bunch of tomatoes on, barely anything else and then when it was wrapped, they dug their fingers into it making it not even look like a sandwich. Won’t recommend here again.
Very disappointing. Out of state company looking forward to their yearly Amato’s sandwiches. We had an order of 9. Called and ordered,had the order repeated back. Picked up the sandwiches and went to our location and ALL of the sandwiches were made wrong !!! Never getting sandwiches from the Westbrook Amato’s. Very, very poor service !!
Very rude, acts like you are constantly bugging them when just picking up food. Food wasn’t how I ordered so I went back in, nicely asked for a side of what I needed and she was irritated that I made her talk to me again.
I asked for a large original italian with no olives and extra pickles and got no olives and no pickles and about 2 small pieces of pepper on each side and lots of tomatoes. I used to work at amatos and putting that little pepper on a sandwich would not slide. and no SPO even though I asked for it…
Speaking as a former employee, there is a lot to be desired. Not getting into details on here. Quality standards are really low. The ham they use isn't even a good quality.
Good Italian sandwiches. The OG Maine Italian sandwich place.
The Good:
Fantastic sandwiches, large variety, reasonable prices.
The Meh:
Take out only, oh well.
The Bad:
The order and pickup lines at this location are a mess.
