We spent 4 nights here, including Thanksgiving Day. The grounds are clean and there are some trees. We opted for a premium lot with full hookup and attached patio. Our daughter & her family met us here & we got them a cabin to stay in. The stay was perfect. The bathroom, laundry & showers were clean & well maintained. The kids played on the playground & had a great time.
Special shout out to the owners. You were welcoming and very friendly. The services you provided were wonderful. We can't thank you enough for the great service. We will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Amarillo.
Note: you will hear trains, airplanes & helicopters. The sounds mostly disapear about 10pm. They did not bother us. We slept great.
The Amarillo Journey Campground is a fantastic stopover when traveling, conveniently located right off the interstate. It's the most welcoming KOA campground I've ever stayed at, with meticulous grounds, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. If you have a dog, you'll appreciate their two dog parks and dog run. While there's some train noise, it didn't bother me as I live near a train myself. This is our second stay here, and we'll definitely return. Other amenities include a heated pool, a small park for kids, a well-stocked store, and proximity to the Big Texan for a delicious steak dinner. The bathrooms, laundry facilities, and other amenities are impeccably clean.
This is a beautiful park, very clean, only a few miles from everything and they have a really nice store with unique souvenirs. We had a pull through site, clean and leveled. Wifi connection is great. I wish I can give 10 stars for hospitality. Lady in the office, Courtney is very sweet and makes you feel welcome. She explained to us about KOA membership and points system and we just became members. Highly recommending this place.
Absolutely loved this place. The staff was awesome. Thats half the battle in my book. Store was stocked nicely. Lots of friendly campers. The sites were a little close though. My favorite part was the field of prairie dogs across the street. Was fun to watch them!!
After driving for 14 hours to this KOA and arriving after dark, I was so relieved that they had waited for my arrival, welcomed me and showed me right to my reserved slot. The hot shower was great, the bathrooms were perfectly clean and I felt safe (and exhausted). I slept soundly and was back on the road feeling refreshed the next morning. Thank you Amarillo KOA - well done! --- From NativeTexanDee
This campground was very nice and clean but the train comes by every 20-25min and blares its horn except from 3 am to 5am unless that’s when I finally slept. Also, the planes fly right over your head from the airport on the other side of you. So if your not a light sleeper then this place is perfect.(I even had ear plugs in.)
This is a fabulous KOA Journey with welcoming staff and sparkling clean facilities. The pool was not cold at all, was open late, and the store is great, too, with good selections. The grounds were nice and I enjoyed a morning jog of looping around the property. Price is reasonable and we thought it was as good as any KOA Holiday. Great work, Amarillo team!
Beautiful Camp ground with lots of amenities. We were warmly greeted outside when we pulled up, the staff here is second to none! Treated like family! Quiet, clean and safe. Fair prices. We love this place.
