This hotel experience was perfect. Our room was huge, had a great layout and balcony. There was a furnace we could turn on that mimicked a fireplace. This was a great touch. Breakfast was excellent and we took more food to use as lunch while on the Channel Islands.
The only downside for this hotel is that it is right next to I-101. You can hear it all night long.
Positive: The bed was very comfortable. Great sheets and blankets. I brought my own pillow. The bathroom was great, I appreciated the walk-in shower. The breakfast was way better than most hotel breakfast offerings. I stayed for 2 weeks, will stay again! Negative: The hotel looks recently remodeled. Unfortunately the staff is not taking care of the new work so there are some stains forming, missing paint, etc. Just needs a little maintenance to keep it looking great.
Remodeled but to pricey, and forget about taking a nice relaxing shower, not enough water pressure to wash to the soap off your body, and don't even think about shampooing you hair. If your room is on the west side next to freeway you will never sleep unless you have earplugs. The traffic on the 101 never ends. The breakfast is pretty good but it doesn't make up for no sleep. Price wise you can do better else where for the amenities you get here.
I think the construction may be finished or almost final? Came over the 4th of July weekend and there were no scaffolds.
Pool was open. Breakfast was provided and happy hour (beer, wine and wings) from 5-7pm.
7 min walk to the beach and shorter distance to get to a restaurant and downtown. Great location.
This hotel has balconies and view. You can actually sleep with fresh air in the room. Rare luxury in new hotels.

We had a great weekend! The hotel was a great spot, beautiful views, and grateful for a hot cup of coffee with a hot meal every morning. My partner and I felt comfortable and were treated with respect. We will be back.
Positive: staff and buffet were good Negative: room telephone did not get fixed for 14 days and still did not get fixed while our stay. computer at hotel did not work
Unfortunately, the night I was here the hotel was undergoing outside maintenance and there was scaffolding all around the building, which blocked any potential view out of the windows. My rating would probably be higher if not for this. The property is well located, walking distance from both downtown and the beach. The staff were very friendly and the guestrooms were spacious, clean, stylishly decorated and comfortable. They offered a manager's reception at 5:00 with free wine/beer/soft drink and appetizers. Breakfast buffet was included in the rate - basic but fillilng. Plastic utensils and paper plates made it seem like something offered at a budget hotel but the food was okay.
