Best WLM Reviews

We arrived at the restaurant a couple of parents and three teenagers. The food was excellent and very satisfying. The waitress was very kind, patient, professional and very polite. The place was very clean. We will definitely come back next time.
Evidently, a Sunday night in Mount Pleasant is the new Saturday night on upper King Street. When my friend and I arrived at 605 pm, we found ourselves waiting outside due to a party inside blocking the entrance. After five minutes with no movement, we decided to leave. Should have stuck with that gut instinct. However, Google showed nice reviews, so I called the restaurant at 6:13 pm and was assured that there would be no waiting. Encouraged by this, we walked back from the car and were seated immediately. Placed an order for two pieces of pizza and some gluten-free pasta within five minutes of being seated.
Regrettably, we waited 50+ minutes after placing an order and still had no food. Frustrated, I left $40 on the table for a $29 bill, informing the server that we were leaving without the food due to the long wait.
The server then told us that the food would be ready soon and offered to pack it to go. Looking back, I should have just walked away and left $40 and moved on. If the server had mentioned the kitchen is backed up, it would have been helpful. This isn't Hall's, The Ordinary, or Burton's. It's a small local business with good reviews. Our experience could have been better. The chef (maybe the owner) offered to comp the meal after I showed him my cell phone and the call to his restaurant from just outside his door at 613 pm, and the current time was 710 pm when we got the order packaged to go. It took 50+ minutes to get a simple order.
Accepting his offer felt like I am complaining for a free meal. That wasn't the case, so I didn't allow him to give me my money back. Hope the owners will have chat with their servers and have them tell patrons "It's going to take nearly an hour for two pieces of pizza and some very bland Gluten Free pasta.
Will stick with the MP spots that don't disappoint. I lived in Charleton for 20+ years and won't be back to Amalifi's. At least the $3.50 pizza by the slice didn't go to waste for my friend.
This was our first visit to Daniel Island, and we had six family members here for dinner. Our reservation was for 6:00, but they were very busy and we were seated at 6:30. At the host's suggestion we went next door to the Wine Bar for drinks while we waited. That worked fine and they let us take our drinks back to Amalfi's when our tables were ready.
First off we had hot rolls with an olive oil dip. They were excellent. I happen to love starting a meal with warm bread/rolls. My beautiful wife enjoyed a nice salad.
Several different appetizer plates were ordered. Our table had the Vesuvio - arancini, meatballs and fried calamari. I didn't partake, but others enjoyed it.
I had the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti, my usual go to Italian dinner. Very good, nice portion and I liked their sauce. My wife had the Eggplant Parmigiana and felt the same as I did.
I don't remember all the other orders, but I know that a Neapolitan pizza was served and also a Veal Ossobuco. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and none of us had room for dessert!
Our server Dalaina was kept busy and did a fine job taking care of the six of us.
Tasty Italian food.
The tomato soup is delicious, and the dish portions are huge.
You can even order for one and share with someone else.
They offer complementary homemade bread (really good).
I will definitely recommend this place.
My husband and I had our Valentine's Day dinner here on Tuesday evening (1 day before). This was not our first time here. My husband loved his chicken parm. I ordered gnocchi. The sauce was strong and robust. A little too much for me, so I ordered Alfredo to mix in to cut the strong tomatoe flavor. We had to ask for refills and other servers for the sauce and to go container. Our server disappeared until she brought the check. There was only 1 other couple there when we walked in, so there was not a crowd. Now, before we left, there were 4 booths/tables occupied, and there were 3 servers and a hostess.
** So, in reply to the owners response, it was the day before Valentine's Day, only 1 other table to begin with and 3 servers. I wasn't trying to be rude or ugly, just giving an honest review.
My wife and I stopped here to eat during our honeymoon. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth every second. The owner came out from the kitchen personally to check on his customers, and him and his staff were super friendly. The food was amazing with healthy portions and good pricing. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
Nice little restaurant. I ordered the appetizer with arancini , calamari and meatballs. The meatballs and calamari tasted good although the calamari seemed a little tough and chewy. The fresh made bread was very good with olive oil. I also ordered the fettuccine with chicken and broccoli which had a good taste.
Was there Saturday we dine in. The food was great! The service was great had the best waitress to help us since it was our first time there. David the owner came out to greet us see how everything was. Would recommend for people come enjoy the best Italian food.
