Best WLM Reviews
The Salvation on french with mayo and mustard will always have my heart, no matter the size. I love that they’ve stepped up their offerings to include homemade deserts. I’ve loved the lemon bars and most recently a banana pudding. If my car is in a 15 mile radius of Alvin Ord’s I have to go. So thankful they are still around, I’ll love you forever Alvin Ord’s ????
The large salvation is very large indeed. Delicious oily, wheat bread and melted cheese make this sandwich. I love the old campus vibe the restaurant has as well. The sandwich is a little pricey at over $18, but I could only finish half of it at the restaurant, so it'll make for a nice leftover meal later today.
Sandwiches were good but service was slow. They shutoff half the restaurant and people were crammed in waiting for their food
Came here from out of town and visited based on other Google reviews. It is a little tucked away....service was kinda slow. The food was delicious. Limited menu options, but I had the ham and my husband had the Salvation. Both were good. I like the portion sizes as they are just enough to satisfy without making you too full. $26 for 3 sandwiches, 3 chips, and 1 drink. They also asked for a tip when running my card for me, so if you take issue with tipping culture, consider yourself warned.
Grunge-topia of San Marcos! Graffiti the walls, leave your mark, enjoy great sandwiches and meet new people! The atmosphere of Alvin ords is what makes this place the go-to sandwich shop in the area, and I worked here personally for 2 years, they make their bread daily and have the cutest little sweet treats in a display on the counter. The manager is amazing and very helpful/caring to everyone he meets. All in all, this is the first place I stop when in San Marcos!!
I absolutely ???? recommend this place!!! The bread is homemade which is most important to me!! ???? the meats and the vegetables are equally fresh also. come and try it!! ???? So yummy!! Add bacon/JALAPENO to Salvation sandwich....... the BEST EVER!!!
I've been getting sandwiches at Alvin Ord's for more years than I care to admit and still love it. One of the best sandwich shops I know of and will continue to frequent as long as I can.
Not a lot is invested in the dining area and it's very utilitarian (if not down right beat). But the staff is good and the food is better. Had the turkey sandwich with everything. Just to see what "everything" is. It was a lot. I asked for wheat bread (instead of French). It came out with a huge and round flat roll kind of thing. It was tasted and it was delicious. What more could you ask for from a sandwich joint in a college area?
