Let me start my saying that the doctor and staff were kind and nothing against them but the hospitalization they provide should not be called hospitalization, it’s boarding your sick pet with hope that they’ll make it. I took my 5 year old dog in last week due to persistent vomiting and bloody diarrhea that started during the night, I could tell she wasn’t doing good, X-rays and tests didn’t reveal anything that could be causing the issue, but I feel that once those were done nothing else was done in order to figure out the issue. My options were give her meds and take home or hospitalize her there over night. Initially was going to take home because I knew they weren’t there to monitor overnight but they said their concern was that without leaving her there she would decline so trusting their medical advice I left her there. Worst decision I could have made. I got a call at 8 the next morning to inform me that she passed overnight. It broke my heart knowing she died alone, in a kennel without her family to comfort her. I don’t know how this place calls it “ hospitalization” without having someone there to monitor or provide emergency care or at the least call the family to inform them. I’m absolutely devastated and sickened how this was handled and how horribly my baby went. I really hope they change their policy or people will stop leaving their pets there.
I just have to say THANK YOU to the incredible staff at this facility. They went above and beyond to get us in on the 4th of July. Our sweet pit Daisy needed emergency surgery and they were generous enough to open the clinic to preform the surgery. If it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have our baby here with us today. A million times thank you again. From the bottom of our hearts.
Cannot say enough good things about this group of people. I have seen several of the vets in this group and it doesn't matter which one you see they have the same professional presence. They truly care about your pet and giving you as much information as you need to have peace of mind. I will never go anywhere else for my vet care. Just the best place to trust your four legged family with.
Took our beloved 4 year old cat Jasper in for not being able to urinate on 09/30/2024. We arrived at 11:00am and were told by the receptionist we wouldn’t be seen till after 1:30pm because there is a 2-hour wait and they go to lunch from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. Was then told I would be called when a room became available. We came back after lunch and waited. Once a room became available we were called and put in a room. We waited for almost an hour and a half before the Dr. came in. Jasper was then taken back to have his urethra unblocked. Was told he wouldn’t come out of anesthesia for about 30-45 minutes. Waited for 2-1/2 hours, paid for the procedure and just before closing at 5:25 Jasper was brought to us in his carrier. Was told it would probably be best to leave him in his carrier overnight. His eyes were wide open which we thought was odd then once we got home we realized he was dead.
I just have to say THANK YOU to the incredible staff at this facility! 2 doctors (with their families to help) came in 10pm on a Saturday night to do an emergency C-section on my sweet little goat Joy, who had been in labor 10 hours. No other vet was available...and even emergency vets were turning me down. Thankfully, our regular mobile vet told me to contact Alvarado Vet. Not only did they save momma Joy's life, but baby Faith lived too! And now this year, 8 months later, joy has successfully birthed a new baby girl *naturally*, and Faith is pregnant! Thank you doctors so much for your compassionate, professional and effective care for our sweet goats at Goat Yoga Rockwall!! I appreciate you more than I can say!
The vets are great, I've used them for several yrs. I recently had to put my 17 yr old Chihuahua down. The vets was so caring and compassionate. She gave her a sedation shot which she was out when the IV was put in. They really care about your pets and you. I was allowed to stay with my baby after she passed for as long as I wanted. I will only take my dogs to them. Dr. Wade is wonderful
My sweet AJ had what appeared to be a rash. Thankfully it was just an allergic reaction to fleas. They recommended a great product and didn't try to sell me the most expensive product they have.
This place is always great!
Walk-in-only means a long line of people in the morning, so don't go if you're in a rush/crunch. That said, if you have the time this place is incredible and affordable. Doctor listened to all my concerns and was gentle yet firm with my dog while checking things for herself, never belittling or talking down to me. No run-around with all services done in-house (vaccines, meds prescription/fulfillment, even a complimentary nail trim), so once we were finally called we were in and out in less than 30 minutes without feeling rushed through. Cherry on top was the bill was a little over half what I anticipated it being, so it was an all around positive experience. Looking forward to working with them in the future.
