Best WLM Reviews
The first time here, everything was great. Our server, Ethan, was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend food choices. He checked on us just the right amount of times and made sure our beverages were never empty. The food was great, though the spaghetti sauce was oddly lacking flavor while the mariana with our starter was packed full of flavor. I'll agree with other reviewers who commented on the quarter piece of tomato in the shared salad a bit odd. The restaurant could use a good wiping down between the walls and the vent in the womens bathroom (which was quite nasty). Overall, it was great, and if we find ourselves back in the area, we would definitely visit again.
Staff is very personable, food is not great.
Ordered a couple different things but there was something off about each one.
The starter salad for the table had only one small piece of tomato. It was iceberg lettuce which was still in wedge form, drowning in oil and vinegar.
The bread was sitting in a half inch of olive oil in a bowl, so they were soggy by the time they were brought to our table.
The chicken fettuccini Alfredo is nearly $30 but the restaurant doesn’t use fettuccini noodles - they use egg noodles. When my wife asked the server if this was normal they said it’s a “common complaint” and we could order it with spaghetti noodles next time. The chicken on the pasta was also under-seasoned and small.
We also ordered the Ziti Al Forno bowl which was baked with cheese but the cheese and oil was all over the sides of the dish that it got all over the table. The sausage in the pasta was good quality, and seasoning was fresh.
Overall pasta was all too soft and falling apart on both dishes, appetizers were not good, and service wasn’t great. We won’t be back.
This is a great place to eat. We have eaten here 4x now & every time the staff is excellent and the food is very good. It is pricey, but the quality is good & you get a lot of it. The salad is phenomenal! There are so many yummy ingredients, it wouldn’t need dressing to make it taste good. But, the dressing is an added bonus. The atmosphere is fun with each room having a different theme. This is our favorite nicer restaurant to go to.
This restaurant is so lovely. The restaurant is divided up inside , so each table has a (mostly) private experience, making it an amazing place to unwind with a bottle of wine after a long day. Rat Pack tunes. The food is fantastic, with a lot of variety. Desserts are great. We've been married forever, but this would be an excellent first date place. A new favorite.
The atmosphere was nice. Service was excellent. The food was outstanding. Delicious, fresh salad and bread was served with our meal. I had the eggplant and my son had the lasagna. Both were above and beyond what we expected. I highly recommend Altruda's. We will definitely return here whenever we are in Knoxville.
Altruda’s always has the freshest, hottest dinner. Their garlic rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Their staff are so friendly and informative. Their scallops Florentine is my favorite dish there. It’s an adventure of textures and flavors. The salad they bring you is full of the best vegetables and cheese. You can even buy their dressing. Phenomenal. Even their water is crisp. If you haven’t tried it…you should.
The food was great! Dinner came with a salad and incredible garlic buns. I got the eggplant dish and my husband had the ravioli. We were both very pleased with our dinners. The service was great and the atmosphere was subdued. A nice change from loud chain restaurants. We will definitely be back.
My wife and I have been trying to get to Altruda's for years. Our schedule prevented it. We finally got to go there tonight for our anniversary and it was excellent! John our waiter was great. His timing for returning to our table was impeccable. The food was amazing. I had the scampi and my wife had cannelloni. When they found out that it was our anniversary they even gave us a free dessert each. I can't imagine anybody giving this restaurant less than five stars. Thank you for making our anniversary special.
