I came today to celebrate my birthday and I was not pleased with the service I received. The waitress unfortunately ruin the experience. We were served our appetizer at 7:49 and ordered entrees at 8:00pm. During the wait the waiter never came back to let us know any updates on the food, never offered us additional water which we had for the entire time. At this point the ice melted and was warm. She never asked us would we like refills on our drinks in between time. We finally received our food at 8:55 and unfortunately we no longer were hungry. We didn’t speak to management regarding the services he offered to take money off which was not what we were looking for. We just wanted to let management know that the service was horrible. Food was amazing atmosphere was nice just wished the service were better.
The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful on the rooftop! Picturesque Pennsylvania view!!! Drinks were excellent!! The food was extraordinary, and a super friendly, happy staff! They made it a great visit for drinks and dinner!!! This is a must come to place in downtown Lancaster!!!
The server was great, the food just came out alittle slow but everything was good! The spicy bucatini and empanadas were delicious.
Had reservations for dinner recently. We were a party of 6- I will emphasize the ONLY people in the restaurant. The cocktails seemed to take longer than average to make, but that wasn’t a huge issue. We ordered an appetizer and asked for extra bread at one point…over 30 minutes later, the bread arrives. Again, not a huge issue, but the waitress did not provide any time updates on the food nor did she come around to ask how we were doing/fill water ,etc.. In fact, she was seen on her phone in plain view the entire time. The entrees took over 45 minutes to arrive and when they did, my order was incorrect. I did not receive my correct order until 35 minutes later - well after the entire table had finished their meals. Although the entree was free for me, I still had to pay for my drink, and the rest of the group paid full price for everything. Plus, barely an apology or acknowledgment of the bad service was given. Unfortunately, an automatic 20% gratuity was added on due to our party size. Overall a poor experience and not worth returning to.
We stumbled across this place while walking downtown and we couldn't be happier! The atmosphere is upscale and felt very high-end while being inviting (we sat in the main restaurant area as it is fall time and cool). We had great service, there is an impressive selection of liquor, and a delicious menu! The prices were more reasonable than I expected from an upscale place (we looked at the menu when we first walked in thinking it would be out of our price range).
This would be a great place for a nice date night or evening out! *the service was quite slow but we weren't in a rush. I would view this a relaxed and extended dinner place*
Went here with no reservation. Luckily, we got there before the rush and were able to get a table. Beautiful place. Atmosphere was nice. Service was prompt. I had a bourbon bramble to drink, which was good. The wife and I shared the salmon tacos for an appetizer. They were good but I think a little over priced. My wife had the southwest chicken salad. It was visually appealing and looked very well proportionate with the ingredients. My wife said the flavor was good, the dressing had a slight bit of heat. (Expected with a southwest chicken). She did comment that it could have used a bit more lettuce. I had the Altana burger with fries. The fries were curly fries. Seasoned and cooked nicely. The burger looked delicious, however the balsamic caramelized onions were way too sweet. To the point where I couldn't eat any more of it. Chocolate creme brulee for dessert was tasty. It wasn't overly sweet. Probably should have passed on that because of the sweetness of the burger but I do love me some dessert. I would eat here again but definitely wouldn't get the burger.
Food was great, service though, not so much. We were informed that the waitress was new, which is understandable. However she didn’t seem to have much help at all. She was like the only waitress on duty, with a bunch of people here, waiting for food and drinks and not getting refills etc. not a great experience.
Took my wife on Valentine’s Day. First impression was wow! The restaurant is beautiful. Nice ambiance with light jazz softly playing in the background. The main dining room is on the 2nd floor of the building and there was a rooftop lounge, which was closed for dining, but open for viewing the city (I’m guessing it’s seasonal). Nice views of the square, the Marriott tower, the Trinity Lutheran Steeple. We didn’t expect it to be too busy as we made reservations for 4:45pm. When we arrived there was only a small party of Galentine ladies and a few couples. We ordered our food before 5:00pm and at 5:00 it started to fill up. Our appetizer came out about 20 minutes after we ordered. However, we noticed that some couples that came after us had already received their food before we got our appetizer (pretzel bites which were very dark, luke warm and dry). The portion was very small, so we asked for more rolls. The rolls were good, but lukewarm. At 6:00 we noticed that the galentines girls and a few of the couples that were there before us still hadn’t had their food, so we weren’t too hopeful. I waved our waiter over and asked what was going on. He said that there was an issue with the ticket machine and that the tickets weren’t coming out for 40 minutes and then they all came out at one time. He never thought to share that there was a delay… I noticed that most of the food that was coming out was the burger and fries (you’d think it wouldn’t take that long to cook a burger and drop some fries). About an hour and a half after we arrived we finally received our food ( I also ordered the burger and my wife ordered the Chilean sea bass), and my umami fries were luke warm and overcooked. They did bring out a nice big bowl of fresh (overcooked) fries to “make it right”. The burger was pretty good. Both meals were on the “large plate” section of the menu, but the plate was the only thing that was large. My wife did enjoy her meal. After filling up on bread, we opted not to have dessert (even tho the espresso cheesecake was calling my name). The gentleman next to us was very upset about his experience and declared that, though he had dined at the restaurant before, he would never return after this experience. The waiter apologized and said that all the kitchen staff were new. The prices weren’t terrible and the restaurant has potential. Giving the benefit of the doubt, the combination of ticket issues, new staff and a busy holiday probably made it a less than great first impression. We are open to coming back maybe over the summer when the rooftop lounge is open and give it another go.
