THERES A SERVICE FEE BUT THERE’S NO WAIT STAFF. I asked a staff member what this was for, and they said it’s because the prices of food had increased due to inflation. But instead of raising the prices they added a service fee. The owner is clearly trying to trick people into thinking the food is cheaper than it is. Terrible pricing model and a very shady business practice. I wish the staff had said the service fee was extra money for the employees but no, it’s for managements bottom line.
Honestly had a lot of problems with this place. The menu doesn’t have pricing on it and the staff couldn’t easily give the prices for food without manually checking each item. The staff agreed that many people apparently dislike this and they were unsure why management hadn’t made a change.
THEY CHARGE FOR LETTUCE ON A SANDWICH! This was not explained to me when ordering and again, the menu doesn’t have any prices. After ordering I was told there’s an online menu, but this was only after ordering. This isn’t a problem with staff, it’s a management issue. I like to know what I’m paying for.
Second the sandwiches don’t come with a side. This would be fine, but a chicken sandwich was $15. Well technically $13, but it became $15 because I wasn’t informed that lettuce is $0.50. Again, management issue not a staff issue. I expected a foot long sub for that price, but it wasn’t. It felt small sub with more lettuce than chicken. This is Harrisburg, not California. That’s way too expensive for a small sandwich. I expected the bread to be great since they serve so much pizza, but it was average at best. The flavor of the hot sauce on the chicken sandwich was underwhelming too. There were also little things like no napkins on the table, different condiments on every table, and no wait staff.
Seems like they had a large collection of beer, so maybe if I was drunk I wouldn’t have realized the food wasn’t any good and that they’re robbing people with their shady pricing model.
Great selection of beers to choose from. I sat at the bar, there were two guys working. The one, extremely friendly, prompt service and pleasant in speaking to. He gave great recommendations on not only food but on beers as well.
The other, polar opposite. He was not friendly, looked as though he didn't want to be there. No conversation or recommendations. Had a horrible attitude the whole time, of course he was my server which made the experience a little less than pleasant.
On a humor note, this place has the tiny forks to eat with. They remind me of the fork you get when tasting baked goods. It was comical to say the least.
Phenomenal list on tap! Food was beyond excellent!!! Atmosphere has fantastic! We had the buffalo wings, cheeseburger pizza, a breadstick and 2 slices of cake. Can't rave enough about Pizza Boy brewery!
Must visit brewery for any beer or pizza lovers. 50+ Pizza Boy small batch beers on tap plus another ~50 beers from other microbreweries. Pizzas are great too!
This is an amazing place! I love sour beers AKA wild ales and there are many choices here. Even if you don't like sour beers they have so many beers to choose from, porters, IPAs, ciders, etc. I think about 100 to choose from. If you find something you like, they have cases and bottles to take home with you.
Then for the food, it's fantastic, especially the pizza. My personal favorite is the cheese steak stuffed pizza. The dough is so soft and very tasty. The cheese tastes so good and the marinara sauce is so savory.
The atmosphere is okay. A few TVs here and there playing mostly sports. Some high-top tables and some low-top tables. It has a warehouse feel to it with an extremely high ceiling. They have a nice outdoor section that is nice if the weather is good. It looks like it has a heater and plastic windows for when the weather gets cooler.
Cool place. Pizza and beer. What is not to like. Crazy number of beer taps! Pizza was very good. My slice of Hawaiian was a little soggy crust in the middle but tasty. My meat slice was perfect and crisp. Check it out if you're near Harrisburg.
I’m not local but I’ve been coming to Pizza Boy for years now, and I look forward to it every time.
I miss the larger bar that was there pre-pandemic but there is a lot of seating otherwise.
My most recent visit was made more enjoyable by sitting at the bar and chatting with Matt behind the bar! Great staff, beer, and food as always. If I had to critique anything, it would be the new cocktail menu which I’m not sure is necessary when there are 100 taps including beer and cider, plus wine options. (It slows down service with staff making mixed drinks)
If you like beer and pizza, this is your heaven!
A huge tap list, so many you have to order by number. Their food menu is also pretty extensive, their subs & pizza are awesome.
It can be very full at times but the lines go quick and there is a lot of seating. Don't let the parking lot scare you!
This is definitely a great brewery. It is pretty large but had a local vibe to it. People kept poring in to sit down or grab things to go.
The pizza is some of the best we have had in a long time, with may to choose from. The bonus, you get wash the pizza down with a large variety of incredible Pizza Boy beer.
There are many other on tap form other local establishments but you are going to want to try all the Pizza Boy beer, we guarantee.
