What a huge disappointment. There is nothing that could be done about the strong cigarette smoke smell. We could not have the heat or air on due to the overwhelming smell of that smoke. The blankets smelled of smoke as well. So we had to bundle up to stay warm.
If you stay make sure that you are in the second floor. The noise from the people above us with their kids kept us up as it sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Then the people next to us in the adjoining room were loud as we could hear their entire conversations as well as the TV being turned up.
As far as cleanliness it was good but facility is tired.
The people are nice and helpful but the things that bothered us could not be fixed. We will not stay there again unfortunately.
The hotel manager has done an amazing job decorating for Christmas! Even more amazing is her attention to detail in the rooms and how Welcome she makes every single guest feel! Highly recommend this hotel! Won't find a cleaner place in Helen - you can literally eat off the floor!
Like all reviews this is a cute place to stay with an outstanding location for enjoying Helen. It is accurately shown as a 2star hotel as there are several things that just need updated both inside and out. Our stay was quiet and comfortable and would recommend to everyone knowing the above
Fantastic experience. There was a room mix-up when we arrived, but the two people who run the place were great at fixing it promptly. The king bed in room 5 is very comfortable. The other guests by the fire at night were lovely to chat with. The firepit area has plenty of room, and it also has a covered pool table. We would definitely come back again!
Great stay at Alpine Village Inn. Perfect location.. able to walk to anything in Helen. Beds were comfy, room was clean, shower was hot with good pressure. The staff was super nice.. kept a fire going every night and offered my daughter hot coco. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!
Location to downtown Helen was great. Room was clean. Walls are extremely thin, can hear everything in other room. First night was great, second night, someone stayed in the room next to me and had a cough the entire time. He didn't know how to shut the door properly either, slammed it 2 or 3 timed each time he went outside to smoke. Had to put a towel at the door as well, huge gap in the bottom of the door. I would not stay here again.
Staff was friendly enough; however our room smelled of urine no matter where you were in the room. We figure someone didn't walk the dog like they should have or something. My husband and I went to DG to buy supplies to clean and deodorize the room; really didn't help. If they don't charge pet deposit fees they should start. We had to check out a day early, because I have severe allergies and by day 2 of 3 I was getting pretty sick from the smell; even retreated to our car just to sleep second night and have fresh air. When we went to check out office was locked at 11:35am, rung doorbell twice no one ever came to assist us, so put key in key box and chalked it up for a loss on our night we didn't stay. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Great that it's located by the Festhalle. But $300 a night for a basic room with a broken toilet seat lid and a loose bathtub faucet. It looks cute in pictures but in person? Basic weird pod/tray type of coffee machines in the rooms and a mini fridge. Don't expect anything else. You'll have to go elsewhere for any other type of drinks and food. The outside definitely needs a fresh paint job and the outside areas need an update. We were supposed to check in at 3 p.m. and staff was doing IDK what and we kept being told we'll be right with you and it was quite a few minutes later til we got checked in. Honestly it was only worth $100 per night.
