A little almost-country bar, the Alpine Inn is worth a visit if you're passing through Omaha, and several more if you live there.
The fried chicken is great, juicy and crispy, and it's worth it by itself. The potato wedges are delicious, but the Cole slaw is just alright. Service, both at the bar and the tables is great, and they have a decent selection of beers and liquor.
Oh, and the raccoons. Honestly, if you don't come here for the excellent food and beer deals, come pay a visit to the trash pandas. Basically free entertainment when dozens of them scurry over for scraps (all visible through big glass windows, not inside, of course) as well as other neighborhood critters.

Love going to alpine! The foods great and the raccoon entertainment is always fun! One of the best hidden gems in Omaha
It was clean and the people were friendly but you didn’t see them much. They do not take credit card or debit but you can pay with a QR code that takes you to their online shop. So if you don’t feel confident In doing that bring cash. It took us 30 minutes from ordering to get food so be surprised by that. The food is good and seeing them put food out for the animals is fun.
The chicken was extremely fresh, crispy and reasonably priced. The building was in the middle of nowhere and looked like a small bar so I didn’t no what to expect. When I walked in there was a wait. The lady took my name and gave me a buzzer. My daughters and I played at the pool table to pass the waiting time. It took about 25/30 mins before a table was ready. They sat us at table next to a glass door so we had front row seats to the raccoon action. One of the employees went to the back were the raccoons were and threw a bucket full of scraps so the raccoons could feast. It really wasn’t my type of scenery. However, it was a different experience and their chicken was delicious.
We have been trying to find a place that has good fried chicken and so far, this is the number one spot I have found in the Omaha area. Being able to watch the raccoons outside is pleasant, and the establishment has a very laid-back and casual atmosphere. Nicely priced menu as well
The fried chicken here is so good. So crispy and tasty. I highly recommend getting wings and potato wedges. I have been here multiple times and it’s been consistently good. Sometimes you can see raccoons and cats outside on the animal playground. The place is not a fancy restaurant or anything so don’t expect that.. but if you specifically want good chicken.. this place is great!
Started going here in the '70s and the chicken is still good. A bit overcooked at times but good. Love taking someone there for the first time and they see the raccoons and the cats. Dinnertime is best for seeing the animals.
The best fried chicken I've ever had!! Our waitress was awesome!! Wish I would have gotten her name. Watching the Raccoons was the icing on the cake. I really felt like I was stepping back in time inside the building. It's aged but in a very, very good way!!! It goes to show how long a business can stay relevant by serving quality food. I highly recommend dining here!!! I would give 10 stars if possible!!!
