We stayed at the Alouette for the first time in July. First of all, the staff is awesome. I dealt with Fred a few times both on the phone and in person and he was extremely helpful. The other folks I dealt with were also great.
The location is very good, walkable to the pier and all the related activities down there. It was a busy weekend (typical for the summer) but being close to things was great. Beach access was also excellent and Old Orchard Beach is very good for a northern beach (sorry, Myrtle Beach is our favorite).
The only "downside" was the room, but honestly that isn't a fault of the Alouette. We brought our dog along (wife insisted) so we had a pet-friendly room, which obviously wasn't one of their higher-end locations. The room was definitely a pet room because as would be typical, it had a particular odor about it, which my daughter (also staying but in different room) reminded us about. Overall, however it was good if not small (which I was told when I booked so no surprise). The room had a small kitchenette with hot plate, microwave, plates and utensils, small fridge so that was a nice touch.
With all of that said, we would definitely stay here again and perhaps next time leave our fur baby home and get one of the upgraded rooms or suites.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights with our dog. Very basic room. Was a little worn-cuts/damage to sliding glass door curtain, fridge had cracks on plastic (still 100% working). Great location. Nice they’re dog friendly (with pet fee). We’d stay again if in the area.
My son and I stayed during the off season and it was so nice. Room was nice and quiet. He enjoyed the indoor pool and being so close to the ocean. We had a delicious breakfast at the cafe. Would definitely stay here again in the future
Had an amazing stay here at Alouette! We came right at the start of the off season for this town and had a beautiful quiet stay. I had booked a small room near the back of the resort and upon check in, Caroline offered us an ocean view room for whatever we were willing to pay. We felt such a warm hospitality throughout this resort with their amazing care and delicious breakfast every morning. Would recommend anyone visit, especially during their off season as well.
We stopped here between Richmond and western New Hampshire. I wanted some beach time and this was perfect. It’s usually not in our budget to stay at a beachfront place so this was a treat. Rooms reflect us affording beachfront in terms of space and signs of age, but it was great. Kids loved the beach even though it’s off season. Indoor pool was nice too. I’d return here.
Had a room booked in the Beach Walk part of these units. Because it was slow, desk agent upgraded us to room with a view, closer to beach. This room was very small, no closet or shelves in bathroom. We asked for another room and ended up with one that was directly on the beach with fantastic view and very comfy. We paid more but it was worth it. Service was impeccable, breakfast adequate but nothing special.
Staff was great. They were friendly and very accommodating. The grounds were neatly|Maintained. Location was the best part. The beach is right there. Our room was just as described and very neat and clean. We will definitely be staying here again. September is a great month to go.
We stayed here July 12-14 2024. Our room was pretty clean, and very roomy. Staff was very nice, and there is a lot of staff around. The room we were in was very soundproof and we didn't hear the apartment next to us which had a large group. The place overall is families and it was surprisingly quiet even though they were quite full. Beach is right there, and an ice cream truck comes daily, which was fun! The breakfast restaurant was good but it was very busy and God bless the staff! They worked hard to get everyone in and fed, and they did it in a pleasant and friendly manner. We plan to come again next year.
