We visited the restaurant last week it was full of people and believed that they were short of staff.
The host was the best! She was fast and kind and gave us a great table to enjoy our dinner.
The server was also nice and answered all our requests. The drinks were bad and the food was a meh, the oyster were good but the fried calamari were bad. I don’t know, in general I was waiting for something better, but the experience was OK.
The server was very nice. Place has I side and out seating.
Since I'm a vegetarian they let me have the flat bread with the shrimp on the side so that way at least my fiance could eat the shrimp.
The potato ball was delicious.
The mussels and steamers were good. The presentation on the food was good.
The bread for the mussels and steamers was just plain bread, would have been better if it was garlic bread like most places.
But overall a good experience, would come back.
Our experience at Alonzo’s unfortunately did not meet expectations. We were drawn in by its connection to the A&B Lobster House, but it quickly became clear that the two do not share the same kitchen—and certainly not the same level of quality. The fish tacos were bland, with underseasoned fish and cold tortillas that made them even less enjoyable. Additionally, the corn on the cob was served cold, making it difficult to appreciate. Even the drinks, which we hoped would redeem the experience, were mediocre at best. None of us finished our full meals, yet we still ended up paying a considerable amount. Sadly, Alonzo’s failed to deliver on both food and beverage, leaving us feeling disappointed and shortchanged.
We love oysters, but their baked oysters were ???? Maybe we ate here on a bad day, but as foodies, it wasn't good.
The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We ordered 4 different meals and ALL of them were great! Our waitress was amazing, telling us a little about the area and history of the Keys. Even the hostesses were extra friendly and accommodating. 10/10 for sure!
Food was great service was interesting to say the least. Our server did not seem to want to be there. Took almost 10 min to see us then just acted aloof… but the food was great!! Wish we had ordered more fish bites
I stopped by for a quick lunch and the experience was excellent. This restaurant has single oysters, which is perfect if you - like me - have never tried them before and don't want to commit to half a dozen. My server was really helpful with instructions on how to eat an oyster successfully, which was great because I was really nervous about it haha. Turns out, they're not that bad! Maybe even good..? I also tried the conch fritters and the Tito's hard lemonade, both of which were tasty as well.
Definitely stop here for amazing and fresh seafood in Key West! We ordered the seafood tower and it did not disappoint. Favorites were the oysters, peel and eat shrimp, and calamari salad. Ordered the Caribbean Lobster tail for my entree and it was very tender with great flavor. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in Key West!
Was really hoping for better. The location was absolutely amazing! Athena staff was really great. Welcomed us right in and seated us. The wife had the shrimp platter and I had the fish and chips(mahi mahi) the fish and shrimp were mediocre at best. Really expected better. The French fries were the best I’ve probably a ver had. They were slightly crispy and super delicious.
