Best WLM Reviews
So I'm not big on sweet meats .. was delightfully surprised!! My food was so yummy. The smell alone was rich!! So good, very much will be a repeat customer here.
They put their foot in that brown gravy that topped my meat patties. The chicken was tender n moist. The steak slices were perfectly cooked and sliced just right.
Was not busy at all for Saturday lunch stop.
This is a very small hole in the wall Hawaiian style food place and it was verrryyyy good! I got chicken katsu with brown gravy my husband got the super loco moco that came with the burger patties and spam! These plates are well worth the money. I’ll have plenty for dinner tonight! This place is a deff must and as local to Hawaii as you will get. We lived in Hawaii for 7 years and even the L&L by us doesn’t compare to Hawaii.
Comfort homemade vibes with friendly staff
I would call this a 4. 5 stars if you have the proper expectations. The food isn't going to blow you away. It has more a homemade touch to it versus the classic restaurant overflowing with flavor and fats. So in one sense it's not as impressive, but with the excellent service you may feel at home. My wife and I got a make your own 3 combo plate and chose the BBQ chicken, BBQ short ribs, and chicken katsu. Also got spam musubi (comes in 2). The BBQ chicken easily won the night. The smokey BBQ flavor and tenderness were great. The BBQ short ribs came in next, a good mix of fatty but doesn't stand out. The chicken katsu is lighter fried than expected but still is crispy. Again doesn't stand out. The spam musubi surprisingly was disappointing. The rice was mushy and there was no sauce between the spam and rice and there was a lot of rice so the flavor to rice ratio was off. I was more forgiving and would come again to try other items since it's nearby but my wife was less so. 4 stars
My favorite place for Hawaiian bbq. Great service and great food. I got the chicken combo with rice, but they macaroni salad as side as well. Chicken katsu was juicy and the bbq chicken is tender and just seasoned enough. Never disappointed here.
I'm from out of town and it was our last afternoon here. The rest of my family wanted burgers....again. I wanted something different! Searched restaurants near by and this one caught my eye. The plates people were posting and the reviews made me take a double take. I finally gave in and ordered online.
I ordered the combo pick three. I had chicken katsu, beef and rib. I could've substituted the macaroni salad for more rice (since a lot of reviews said it was bland) but I wanted to try for myself. I also picked up the aloha sauce, katsu sauce and spicy sweet and sour that others suggested. Went back to the hotel and dug in! Everything was soooo good!! They give you such a generous plate. I tried to eat it all but couldn't. (Ate the rest for breakfast). The aloha sauce was so good and that spicy sweet and sour, game changer!! Never had SPICY sweet and sour. So good and more people should have it! The macaroni salad was decent but after eating all the flavorful stuff, it does kind of make it taste bland. Oh, buy when you get to the bottom of the meat! That Cabbage is so good!! I should've gotten more!
Sad I don't live here, cause I would definitely be eating here weekly!
One of my all time favorite local Dallas spots! They have delicious food and the customer service is always exceptional. I can’t recommend this place enough! I usually get the 3 meat combo aloha style and I have never been disappointed by any of their protein options.
I have visited Dallas several times this year and have dined at this establishment on a few occasions, always promising myself that I would return—and I did today.
Once again, the meal was absolutely outstanding. Suzie, who was working behind the counter, was exceptionally kind and friendly. She provided us with an informative overview of the menu items, and it was evident that she possessed a wealth of knowledge, with over 70 years of experience in Hawaiian cuisine. Her expertise in barbecue was particularly impressive.
I ordered the Kahlúa pork with cabbage, accompanied by two side dishes: macaroni salad, which is consistently delicious, and a side of short ribs. For dessert, I enjoyed a rice butter cake. The meal was not only incredibly cost-effective but also featured generous portions fit for royalty. The exceptional service further enhanced the overall experience, making it a truly memorable meal.
Thank you! I will undoubtedly return before my departure.
The staff is nice but, this isn’t legit Hawaiian food. I’ve had authentic Hawaiian food in Hawaii and California numerous times and this just isn’t cutting it. The Kalua pork is lacking flavor but, the spicy chicken was okay. Really disappointing seeing as this place has outstanding reviews.
