The hotel was super clean, modern and perfect for a work trip. The only issue was being woken up by a fire alarm at 5am. We were told to evacuate the building and after 40 minutes the alarms stopped. Once the elevators were working, we could go back in. My issue is that no one from the hotel even check with guests as we were evacuating and then going back inside. You would think as a safety measure, a staff person would have been present. Not sure if I would stay here again because of that.
It's a great spot to stay. There rooftop bar restaurant and pool is awesome! W had brunch in the restaurant it was delicious. The rooms have a fun modern design. The art in the lobby and rooms are very unique they collaborated with a couple of artists with a very interesting style. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, professional. We stored our luggage before and after our stay and walked around Midtown. We would definitely stay again!
My partner and I planned to stay in Tampa only for one night, but plans changed last minute and we booked at Aloft Midtown Tampa. We both had full days of work the next day and so we were really hoping for a late check out so we could work for most of the day in our room. Our new pal Sal at the front desk was so flexible, kind, and accommodating which was a huge relief after a long day. The room was perfect and the service improved our already great Tampa stay. Thank you Sal!
We evacuated from Hurricane Milton at the Aloft Midtown. The staff did a great job prepping for the hurricane, confirming every reservation and checkout in advance to make sure no one got bumped. They kept the bar and restaurant open even during the storm which was amazing and unexpected. They gave everyone free breakfast, and they didn't price gouge with the rooms. The hotel is built so well you could barely hear the wind and rain outside, you had to look out the window to see there was a hurricane. Really great service and experience in a very tough situation.
***Add $40/night to your stay*** Contemporary, minimalist room, not the best of the Marriott properties in our experience. We would have booked a different hotel room considering that ONLY valet parking is available at this hotel at $40/day. We would prefer to have spent the $120+ on something else this trip. Disappointing that the website wasn't more clear about this aspect of the property when booking. We brought this up with the front desk upon check in, but they weren't helpful. Comfortable bed, but very basic room layout without separate bathroom/shower area. I would have given one more star for location, but our view was meh. Toilet paper bar fell off the wall and conditioner was empty = not ready for guests. Lots to do within walking distance if thats what you're in town for.
The staff overall is unfriendly. If you need something, you get the feeling you are disturbing them. Is it because they are overworked and underpaid, I don’t know. My Titanium Elite status meant nothing to them and I got their smallest room. The room was somehow clean and comfortable. The fridge made lots of noise so I was unplugging it at night. The best thing are the blackout blinds.
Every greets you. Valet is not an option you must valet but they are quick to retrieve your vehicle. Hotel smells nice and the rooms have no carpet! I love that! Big windows with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back. Lots of restaurants and little shops to walk around and explore. 13 mins from the Hard Rock.
Great stay. Great valet. Taylor and team were excellent. We will come back again the service was seamless and efficient. We enjoyed our visit to Tampa with the Aloft crew. Again special thanks to valet team. Got us in and out every time. Enjoyed!
