I stayed here for 2-nights in the middle of the week in mid-December. The hotel is a little funky to say the least. It has a little too much of an industrial feel to it. The location is incredible. Right down the street from the hockey arena, but their parking sucks. It's $44/night for the valet - that's way too much guys! The room itself isn't bad. The bed was amazing, (10/10). The pillows however need improvement. The bathroom was okay for the most part, but the shower had a funky smell to it (like someone used too much disinfectant or cleaner) and the caulking at the base of the shower around the edges was peeling and pulling up. There's no foot step in the shower to put your foot up on - so that's a big fail. And the water pressure in the shower is terrible (3/10). The sliding closet door squeaked a l lot, and the hallways and carpet are a little beat up. Overall not a bad stay, but due to the horrible water pressure in the shower and the parking situation, I can't say I would recommend staying here again.
Overall, awful experience all around at Aloft Tampa Downtown. Arrived to be told that they overbooked our room type so we'd have to be downgraded with no option and would not be refunded the difference in price "because it would take a long time." We were then charged a smoking $250 smoking fee when we did not smoke in the room. I've had to follow up several times with management to get this fee rightfully refunded (it's been three+ weeks) and still have yet to receive the refund. Poor customer service all around with no accountability on their end.

That is false and I have our entire email thread to prove so. I have asked the GM for the invoice for the “extra cleaning” that was needed. If we smoked in our room, we’d have no issue paying a fee but charging us because you took a picture of nicotine in the room does not prove that we smoked in the room. There is no substantial proof because we didn’t smoke in the room. It’s very simple - refund a fee that was falsely charged. What you’re doing is bad business.
I also love how you conveniently ignored the part about overbooking our room type and refused to refund us the difference in the rate. Your staff then gave us a $50 bar credit, and then when we went to the bar, it was closed. Very convenient.
We are due credits for the difference in room rate as well as a refund for your falsely charged smoking fee. It’s no surprise your recent reviews are not great.
My husband and I stayed here twice during our honeymoon, and I would love to stay again and again! Cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed our time at the hotel. The views are stunning, the facilities in the hotel are great. They offer so much for guests to do during the day, including their disability accessible swimming pool, a great gym, and parlour games. The staff are so courteous and friendly, they can't do enough. The rooms are clean and spacious. My only regret is not getting staff member's names to praise them individually! Thank you for everything, helped to make our honeymoon incredible.
Overall the Hotel was in the perfect location for my concert at the Amalie Arena! The staff & valet were superb at making me feel comfortable & welcomed!! It's very well kept and clean! There are a lot of walkable things to do around the hotel as well. 10/10
Off the top, this hotel has the best staff courtesy ???? ever! However, it was very limited, understandably in today's economic climate. Housekeeping needs a refresher. This was surprising to me. One staff member, Regina, stood out to me. She was very friendly and attentive. She contributed to my overall rating of Service.
Great location, I was able to walk to a few restaurants, the Tampa theatre and the Riverwalk is directly behind the hotel. The room and bathroom were spacious. Beds were comfy and I even received 2 complementary waters, chips and cookies for being a Marriott member. For the convenience to the highway and airport, I would definitely stay here again.
I truly want to compliment the staff and management at Aloft. We stayed there from 7/18-7/20. The room was nice with the riverfront view. It was very clean. Everyday the staff at the front always said hello and we're very courteous. The last night there we had the unthinkable happen with plumbing. I found out that multiple guests throughout the hotel had issues as well. I knew it was not directly the fault of the hotel. I emailed and left a message for the manager to see how they could rectify it, and they were able to cut some of the price down for our stay there. Everything else at the hotel was awesome and having the management to the right thing made it even better.
It was an excellent experience very clean and front desk service was amazing SHENAAZ WAS SO FRIENDLY AND KIND AND VERY OUTGOING SHE MADE OUR STAY THERE VERY COMFORTABLE….. will definitely stay there again because of her………. We had a wonderful time.
