Best WLM Reviews

Great location, stylish-modern decor, comfortable rooms. Not large, but comfortably appointed, with a desk that's perfect if you have laptop work. Bathroom was small but very functional with a very nice walk-in shower. Perfectly located for accessing the convention center, Reading Terminal Market, the museums including the Ben Franklin Institute and the Barnes. Would definitely stay here again! Very reasonably priced compared with other options in the area.
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the level of service I received during my recent stay at your hotel, from October 25th to October 30th. I chose Aloft based on its reputation for quality and cleanliness, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. ||I noticed that the toilet paper holder in my room was broken, causing the toilet paper to frequently fall onto the floor—a significant hygiene issue that diminished my comfort.||The pillowcases on my bedding were incorrect, leaving the pillows partially exposed. This went unresolved for three days, despite my eventually having to request the change myself. It was disappointing to see a lack of attention to this basic detail.||In addition, I found the overall cleanliness of the room subpar, with only minimal housekeeping performed. My fellow guests and I even went as far as pre-bagging our trash to facilitate easier collection, which often went overlooked.||The HVAC system in my room was problematic. It was turned off throughout the weekend due to the excessive noise it generated, which made it impossible to sleep while it was on. This left me with no choice but to endure uncomfortably warm nights.||The floor did not appear vacuumed after each cleaning, and basic amenities were neglected. The complimentary water was not replaced, forcing me to purchase my own. Additionally, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty, and the body lotion on the sink counter was left discarded and empty.||Lastly, on the final night of my stay, I was informed that there were no bath towels available, only hand towels. I understand that supply issues can occasionally occur, but a hotel of Aloft's standard should anticipate these needs and prevent such inconvenience.||To address my initial complaints, I was offered a complimentary drink at the bar, which I found to be an inadequate response considering the nature of my concerns. I believe that maintaining a clean and comfortable environment should be paramount in hospitality.||I hope this feedback helps to improve future guest experiences. However, based on this experience, I am unlikely to return to Aloft.||I do not recommend at all.
We stayed overnight at Aloft in Philly. They tried to upgrade us, but the rooms were full - we appreciated the attempt. We still enjoyed the room, since the retrofitted building has a historical feel.||What really stood out was how helpful the housekeeping staff was in helping us retrieve some items we left in our room. They called us back within about 15 min, went up to the room and found the items we'd left, and then went back again once we'd realized that we left more than we originally thought. Cheers to Kia and her team for being so nice and helpful!
My wife and I stayed here this past weekend over 3 nights. I read some of the reviews about the front desk staff and I just want to say we did NOT have the same bad experience. In fact, if there were issues they were more than addressed by management. William checked us in- and if I were him I would have been ready to pull my hair out with the wedding party kids running around the lobby, not to mention the sheer amount of people milling around. William could not have been nicer or cooler under pressure (not from us- we are chill AF when on vacation).||To the main point I'm trying to make in this review though... this is an awesome hotel. We're loyal Bonvoy members and we recently started staying at the Aloft hotels because of the social amenities. This hotel has the "back yard" as you can see in the pictures- it's super cool and right off the lobby and hotel bar.||Bartenders are terrific... friendly as can be but professional and make excellent drinks.||Rooms- somewhat small, and that's what we like about it. They make you want to get out and enjoy the area and the hotel. Since this hotel is quite literally in the center of town there are a ton of cool things to do and see within walking distance. The hotel staff had fantastic restaurant recommendations and were spot on.||I loved Philadelphia and we loved this hotel. I want to come back someday, and I would highly recommend the Aloft. Enjoy everything cool about Philly and be treated like a VIP at this place.
I recently stayed at the Aloft Philadelphia Downtown and was pleasantly surprised by its exterior and convenient location near the convention center. The hotel offers both valet parking and nearby parking garages, which is a big plus.
Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a poor check-in. As a Titanium Elite member who stays at Marriott properties close to 150 nights a year, I expected a more welcoming and personalized experience. The lobby was beautiful, and the room, while small, was clean and nicely updated.
While the Aloft Philadelphia Downtown is a decent option, I won't be staying here again due to the lack of customer service I encountered. I'll be seeking another property for my next trip to Philadelphia.
The room was nice and the location was great, but the way breakfast is done was obnoxious. To save time in the mornings, I paid in advance for breakfast every day, assuming it would be some sort of continental breakfast like at every other hotel, but it's an order-and-wait situation. That's fine, saves wasted food.
The first morning, I ordered my breakfast and the front desk staff member asked if I had a voucher. I said no, I paid for breakfast with my room but I didn't have a voucher. So they asked for my room number, and I went on my way.
The second morning, when I went to do the same thing, I discovered that I was supposed to have been given vouchers when I checked in that I could then exchange for breakfast. That hadn't happened. They gave me a voucher for that morning and the next morning, and I exchanged one for that morning's breakfast.
The next morning, after the last night of my stay, I came down to eat breakfast and check out, and discovered that the first morning's breakfast had been charged to my room. By the time that had been sorted out, I no longer had time to order and wait for breakfast, because I had to get to the airport.
So, instead of the breakfast I paid for, I got to pay exorbitant airport prices for breakfast and coffee, although I have to admit that the airport food was better than what I had been served the prior two mornings. If you're going to do breakfast this way, please make sure your staff is well-trained enough to do it the right way instead of wasting a bunch of your guests' time.
When we arrived after a long day travelling; the place seemed a little down at heal |Quite a stark entrance if you enter at ground level|The reception is very laid back and has no air of sophistication |We too were woken from deep sleep on the first night and and to walk down 15 floors snd back up in the wrong time zone |We had a lovely corner room with big windows and we had a magnificent sunrise every morning from a high floor |It was right next to the convention center which was very convenient |Gradually the place grew on us; I could see the place was actually pretty cool it was a shame they couldn't inject the atmosphere to go with the decor |It was a great base to explore the centre of the city|Slept well and quiet at night
Everything went pretty well until our last night and morning at this property. I didn't understand the reviews discussing poor customer service until then.
My husband and I stayed here for a total of five nights. On Monday 9/23, our last night, we decided we were interested in staying one extra night, from 9/24 until 9/25. We attempted to reserve that extra night at the front desk. The person working there was as helpful as she could be. She said there were rooms available but she didn't have the capability to extend our stay or reserve an extra night. She said we would need to reserve online as they apparently don't handle bookings at the front desk.
Even though the front desk person said that rooms were available, when I entered 9/24-9/25 online, the hotel was showing as sold out. However, when I entered a minimum of a three night stay (9/24-9/27), the system showed that rooms were available. The front desk person advised us to call Aloft reservations. It took 10 minutes just to get a live person. I called twice and spoke to two different people, both incredibly unhelpful. The front desk person then advised us to talk to the manager once she was there in the morning and suggested she might be able to help us.
My husband went downstairs the next morning around 9 AM to ask the manager for help, who was even more dismissive and unhelpful than the customer service agents that we'd spoken to on the phone the night before. My husband pointed out to her that we wanted to stay an extra night but the system would only let us book a minimum of three nights. She basically said that we could book the three nights if we wanted but otherwise refused to help us. A couple hours later, out of curiosity, my husband checked their online system about 30 minutes before check-out and suddenly, there were several available to book from 9/24-9/25. By then, we were so disgusted with our experience that we just went home.
So, not only did the manager and "customer service" leave a really bad impression on two people who had just spent money on five nights at this hotel, they also lost out on a potential sale of one extra night. As much as we liked the hotel and everyone else we encountered onsite aside from the rude manager, this experience was unacceptable, considering how much money we had spent to stay here for almost one week. We will not be staying here again. If you value good customer service and want to feel as if your money has been well spent, I wouldn't advise that you do either.
