Overall, my stay at Aloft Miami Doral was decent. The room itself was fine, with two comfortable beds and the room felt bright and fresh. However, I did have some issues with the shower. Although it had a water guide designed to keep the water inside, it always seemed to leak out for some reason. Additionally, the corridors had an eerie vibe, which might be unsettling for solo travelers, though it wasn’t an issue once in the room. As a Marriott supporter, I don’t think I’d stay here again primarily for that reason. For the price, it was an average stay. Lobby was a nice jivey vibe though.
American Airlines provided my family a hotel voucher due to a missed flight. We chose Aloft as loyal Marriott hotel guests but regretted it from the moment we opened the room door. Room 614 smells of mold as soon as you open the door. The shower drain has a lot of buildup with very visible black spots. As Titanium Elite members we requested a late checkout as we had a long travel day due to an aircraft problem. The latest they were willing to allow was 1 PM, typically we receive 4 PM check out due to member status. At 1:01 we received the first call that we had to check out. As we were gathering our chargers to leave - less than two minutes after the first call - the front desk called once again threatening to charge us a late fee and to stop by the front desk before leaving. The hotel is not even that busy with guests for this level of rudeness.
I stayed here the week of thanksgiving and everything was absolutely perfect. Everyone at front desk was so kind helpful ! THANK YOU
We evacuated Sarasota to this hotel on 10/08 as Hurricane Milton was bearing down on the west coast of Florida. We reserved 4 nights in case we needed to be away that long. We only stayed 2 nights and checked out at 9:30 am on 10/10. Our credit card was charged for all 4 nights with 3 of the nights charged at varying rates between $221 and $242 yet on the night of Wednesday 10/09 (when the hurricane came ashore on the opposite coast if Florida), we were charged a whopping $979 for that single night. They charged our credit card $2,032.58 including all taxes (and $150 for having a dog) for 2 nights in a +/- $225/night room. While the hotel did agree to refund 1 of the 2 extra nights they charged us for, we got no relief or reasonable explanation from either the hotel or Marriott corporate headquarters regarding the exorbitant $979 rate charged for that one night. So we resorted to the Florida Attorney General’s office. They were quite interested in our complaint and have taken action on our behalf. Shame on Aloft Miami Doral!
The concierge service is terrible. Breakfast is not Buffet - as said on the hotel.com website - And they stole an Amazon order worth 138 usd - saying it was not delivered, but they do not show the camera images. When I left the hotel, there was no one in the hotel lobby and several Amazon packages were left on the floor. That's why my package was stolen!
NEVER AGAIN!||The room AC was so loud that I couldn't sleep. I requested to change the room, and I was told that they were full. NOT true as I saw a bunch of guests checking in right after me. A disappointment for a Titanium Elite member. The area also is not safe and staff were far from being professional.||
Honestly this was a disgusting experience. Everything was fine until me and my husband woke up to shower before check out and noticed BLACK MOLD .. everywhere.
I used a redemption of my points for this room. I’m a Bonvoy member and was very disgusted in what I saw.
This hotel sucks. The reception staff is all friendly but it's all untrue what they tell you. Additionally, the bedroom is hardly illuminated.
