Called days ahead to request a handicap accessible room, reconfirmed at checking that the room we were being given was a handicap accessible room and still got a standard room. I checked in but didn't go up to see the room as we had to run to a family gathering in town. When we got back later that evening we did think the room was a bit small but we just passed out dead asleep. In the morning when we woke up to shower etc. and that is when we realized the shower was not handicap accessible at alll. Evening front staff seemed chill but lying to a guest is just NOT acceptable. We checked out early and had to figure something else out. The morning staff were not at fault but all they did was say they'd "write it in the comments".
Positive: My overall experience at Aloft Miami Dadeland was extremely poor. Negative: My room on top floor of Aloft in Dec, 2024 had insects in the bathroom & bedroom sheets. I stripped the bed each morning & asked Housekeeping to vacuum and rid the room of insects; they never entered my room. No restaurant, just 1 v slow cook. Avoid hotel
Positive: Clean rooms and interior was well maintained Negative: Staff was ok but not overly helpful. Exterior wasn?t well maintained. Also had the fire alarm go off randomly in the middle of the night. Staff did not offer any apologies and said it just happens every now and again.
I spent two weeks here for a work trip, the notes are as follows:
1. You will need to ask the front desk yourself each day that you want room service before you leave. Even then, they might not clean your room. you won’t have fresh towels.
2. When they clean your room they don’t take any plates or dishes if you got food. I say just leave it in the hallway, I notice they pick it up then.
3. It says no smoking hotel but the hallways will occasionally smell like weed and cigarettes. Not really a huge deal.
4. The Wednesday night yoga sesh by pool is a cool idea but it’s weird and creepy because older men just come and crowd around to sit and watch, even though the pool area is typically empty all day. At least they have 50 cent margaritas.
5. The wraps are very dry.
6. Staff is ok though and don’t have an attitude. It’s a cheap chill hotel. Don’t expect anything great, you’ll definitely have to manually ask for everything you want, sometimes more than once, but you’ll get it all eventually
6. Location gets you where you need to be.
We had to do a last minute reservation switch and booked here. Incidentals were only $50 for the whole stay.
I don’t necessarily have complaints, just observations you get what you pay for.
Positive: Liked the pool and coffee bar in morning. Lobby was very clean and the staff were great. Negative: There was water coming in from under the floor boards in my ground level room. Also kind of noisy being on the ground floor. Carpet was dirty and stained. Floor had weird black glue stains.
I've never experienced such a genuinely caring staff before I stayed at Aloft. The service excelled , especially by Miami's standards. Small problem with a.c. & in.less than 5 minutes Marco was there to resolve the issue quickly. Also, suberb service given by Carlos, Elizabeth & Eddie. I was treated like family and can't say enough good things about the quality of staff.
The pool was nice & clean & remains open for a late night dip. It is located right across the street from Don Pan ( Cuban coffee & food) Pita Fresh & Starbucks.
We didn’t expect to stay at a hotel due to unforeseen reasons. The staff were amazing. My kids loved the room. The retro feeling was amazing. The pool was amazing as well. Thank you for you amazing hospitality
One of the worst places I have stayed. Their halls smelled like cigarrette and weed. The people in the room next to us kept slamming doors all night, blasting music like they had a loud party all night. I called front desk about 5 times to complain amd ask them to help, they kept answering and right after hanging up on me..at the end they finally picked up and the front desk guy literally said to me " what do you want". I travelled with my family and this was a terrible experience, none of us were able to rest. And that service was terrible!!!
