Best WLM Reviews

This is the smallest room I’ve ever encountered, even for Manhattan. While the space is clean, its size can feel quite suffocating and disheartening. The rooms are also very dark. There are a total of four light fixtures in the room with the main one being a light over a vanity and a sink. This makes a room appear even smaller and depressing. If your only purpose for being here is to sleep, it might work for you; however, it’s not suitable for anything beyond that.
The hotel is located on a narrow, unkempt street, and despite its convenient location, the surroundings are quite off-putting. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was not very welcoming either. When I inquired about the $150 authorization on my credit card, given that my company had prepaid for the room, I was told that most other hotels charge $800-900 for incidentals per day. This claim is simply inaccurate, as I frequently travel to Manhattan and have never encountered such charges. The response felt condescending and dismissive. I will not be returning to this hotel.
Update- I am changing my rating to three stars for three reasons:
The bed is comfortable
The shower is pleasant
The night attendant has some empathy and is super nice- in contrast to one who was there in the evening.
When my fiancee and I checked in, we were greeted by Felicia. She was absolutely sweet and very welcoming. She even provided a welcoming gift upon arrival. The room itself was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We got a great nights sleep. Even though we were not in Times Square, the location couldn’t be more convenient. It was easy to get to everywhere we needed to get to. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and be hopefully greeted by Felicia again :)
First, let me say, as a frequent traveler, if I’m being honest—Aloft is not my favorite brand. That said, I was impressed by this property.
Your staff was awesome!! The man at the front desk was knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and efficient for my check in and when I stopped at the front desk during my stay.
The room was clean and housekeeping did a very good job. They even replaced my bottle of water daily which I can’t say the same for some of your more luxurious properties where I have to stop at front desk and beg for a water. Great job to the staff at this property! ????????????
FYI: Rooms are smaller but that’s typical for NYC but even with the size the room was clean, efficient and comfortable.
Lastly, location is great! Super close to multiple subway lines, great restaurants and bars. Kudos to NYC too, it’s nice to see downtown becoming a livelier place than in years past when I lived in the city.
I had a great time here. The staff was very attentive to my needs. In particular Ms. January who was friendly and respectful greeted me with a warm smile at check in. She ensured me that my room request were satisfied. I had no worries. The location is in a great spot with alot of fun surprises all in walking distances. It also has a in house bar with recreational things to do. Price was reasonable for a stay at this hotel and location.
Our stay at Aloft was everything we needed and more! Comfy beds, clean amenities, and friendly staff. We were especially thankful for Alex, who made us feel welcomed and at home. The location is perfect. Right by the Fulton St. station, it made navigating easy. We will be back!
Definitely watch your credit card before and after you book. They are very quick to apply charges to your card. The hotel is good but the street it’s on is a little tricky. The service is ok when they’re not on their phone or talking to each other rather than providing customer service. You can get great rates at this hotel during the week.
DO NOT GO HERE. They treat Titanium Elite members like trash! Booked a night for $700. Got verbal confirmation over the phone and an email confirmation with confirmation number, and even an email about mobile check in. Arrive and they say they don’t have our reservation, and there’s “nothing they can do”. Front desk clerk calls manager who is “off shift” and refuses to speak to us - front desk clerk refuses to help whatsoever with any resolution - says they’re “negative 1 room booked” so totally overbooked. She also refused to give us her name! We call Marriott customer service and they have our reservation - so totally Aloft issue. We ended up getting sent by Marriott corporate to the Courtyard around the corner which is way nicer and half the price. DO NOT GO TO ALOFT!
We stayed here for a quick one night stay. We liked the location since it was quieter than Time’s Square, while still being within walking distance of restaurants, the water front, and the subway. The staff that we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. ||The rooms looked nice overall and were clean. Our room in particular was very small and noisy. We booked a King room and the app indicated we were eligible for an upgrade due to our platinum status. The room we ended up getting was one of the smaller rooms on the floor (per the room map) and behind the elevator. It doesn’t seem like we received an upgrade. Because of the location for the 01 and 08 rooms being behind the elevator it is very noisy every time the elevator moves. It sounded like the jack hammering of a construction site for a few seconds each time the elevator moved. Had our stay been longer we would’ve asked to switch rooms since it was pretty loud and disruptive.||Since we were given one of the smaller rooms there was less storage / furniture than what’s in the pictures. There was a small closet but no real shelves. The limited shelving near the bed and in the bathroom had things on it like the safe, ice bucket, coffee machine, iron/ironing board and religious books. We heard that you could request a mini fridge if you needed it but we didn’t ask for one. There was also a microwave available in the lobby.||There’s a lounge area with a bartender where you can bring your own food to eat. There’s limited seating for eating beyond the bar as the rest of the seating is benches/lounge chairs or couches. It would be helpful if there were a few tables and chairs for this purpose since there’s no restaurant on property and the rooms are a bit too small to sit in if you get take away. We tried to order drinks at the bar but the beer taps were out of order and most of the bottled beer options on the menu were not in stock.
