I would not recommend this hotel at all. My sister and I have stayed here several times. I’ve given them several tries and each time there’s always a problem. I’ve had to have my room moved with each stay and it is definitely an inconvenience. You might wonder why I decided to stay again after these things happened. Well, I believe in giving more than one chance. However, the last time I stayed here the shower sliding door fell off and hit me in my neck and shoulder. I was slipping and sliding in the shower trying to hold it up. I was able to lean it on the wall and get out. My shoulder still hurts being I checked in November 28 and checked out November 29. I was given 2000 points added to my account. I was told that the manager was gonna call and when he called he said something as if “oh I thought it was taken care of. I didn’t know that you needed a follow up”, like are you serious? No one was gonna call to see if I was OK then I was telling them that I needed to go to Urgent care because my doctor could not get me in immediately because of the holiday so at that point he was like oh well I can’t do anything for you. It’s gonna have to go to the insurance and the funny thing is insurance has never even reached out to me either. I still walking around with the hurt shoulder and no one from the company has said anything so I definitely do not recommend anyone staying here at all if I can give it zero I would. You might not only be without internet but possibly end up hurt and not taken care of. I will not be booking again and will not be recommending this place to anyone. My only thought after this ordeal is what if my son had been there like initially planned. The door could have fell on him instead of me. It totally ruined my plans and night and the thought of no empathy is even worse.
BAD EXPERIENCE. This is the first hotel where I HAD TO MAKE MY BED AND CLEAN MY ROOM. Also, we had problems with the check in. We chose this hotel because it really close to Katy Mills Mall.
1. We made two reservations for three nights in a row. I made the first reservation under my name for one night and the next two nights under the name of my husband.
When I arrived I explained this situation and that we were the same family. They said there was no problem at all and they didn’t tell me we had to do something else.
The day after, the housekeeper knocked the door saying it was time to check out (I had to go out of the shower because she didn’t stop knocking). I explained the situation and she told me the desk front didn’t tell her anything about this.
I called the front desk ant they told me that my husband had to go on that moment and make the check in and do some paper work, this was almost impossible because my husband was somewhere else at that moment. ¿Why they didn’t tell me that we had to do this the day before when I explained (twice) this situation? They fixed it how they could but my husband was interrupted.
2. That day I went to the mall and when I came back the room wasn’t done. I called the front desk and the told me the housekeeper came every other day and I understand that BUT as this was a new reservation they had the duty to give us a clean room. The lady on the front desk told me that that was impossible.
So yeah, they made us make a new check in (with all the problems that gave to my husband) but they didn’t have us a clean the room even though it was a new reservation.
Some other important things:
1. Some sheets are ripped.
2. The shower floor is extremely slippery, be careful.
3. The floor is sticky ????, bring some slippers. Or even better, don’t come.
As a Titanium Marriott member, I wanted to share my positive experiences during my stays while traveling to Austin and San Antonio from Louisiana and back.
The location, just outside of Houston on the west side, is fantastic. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and for cigar enthusiasts, Cigar International is conveniently located just down the street.
Most importantly, I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Shelise. She goes above and beyond to ensure I am well taken care of throughout my stays.
Thank you for providing such a great experience!
I had an exceptional stay at this hotel in Houston! Andre went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, and Nathalie was equally impressive with her warmth and professionalism. The location is perfect, and the hotel's amenities are top-notch. The lobby is a highlight, featuring a billiard table and a lovely pool. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Stayed here about 15 days ago and the only thing nice about this hotel is the housekeeping and the male housekeeping manager that paid 100% of their attention when I asked for things for my room. The room was nice but no hot water sadly, but didn’t mind because I like my cold shower. The only struggle when I arrived was the receptionist. Was waiting for the receptionist about 30-45 min to get help and as a looked I saw them talking and laughing with some chubby female that at the end, I found out she was the kitchen attendant, saw me and still decided to keep talking until the someone else came and helped me check in. Honestly if I had the power to, I would fire that receptionist and the kitchen lady.
What a Disappointing Stay at Aloft Katy.
This hotel started with promise but quickly devolved into a nightmare stay. While the lobby and bar area were initially impressive, the rest of my experience was subpar.
The elevator buttons were confusing and barely functional, and upon reaching my room, I was greeted by the blaring television of the occupant next door. The connecting doors were incredibly thin, offering zero soundproofing. Despite two calls to the front desk, the noise disruption continued late into the night.
To add to my frustration, the bar was unattended after a long drive, the breakfast options were misleading, and the coffee was terrible. This Aloft location failed to provide a comfortable and restful experience, and I would not recommend it.
Overall:
For the cost, this hotel was not worth it. I should have saved money and gotten a motel because it would have been the same experience, but more space.
Pros
• Location is very close to the mall
• The shower gets hot (after about 15 minutes of running it)
• It's clean
• The lobby design is cool
Cons
• The room was smaller than even a dorm room. All it could fit was a bed and small hard couch.
• Water takes a while to get hot
• No complimentary breakfast, but you don't find out until you go down for the breakfast they keep mentioning, only to see a charge
• No microwave
• The toilet isn't in a room with an actual door, but near the front with only a privacy door. So, if you use the restroom, everyone in the room can hear and smell you.
• The cost of candy in their shop is $4 and same for a small bag of chips
Nuetral
• People take advantage of the happy hour and the lobby gets very loud. I would get a room on any floor expect the first.
The only reason why I put a one is because management is trash, I see a lot of comments about rooms, not having shampoo or soap, and that’s not the housekeeping fault, if you find one and ask them they will do their best to find them for you. The general manager are the ones deciding not to purchase those things to “save” money and I’ve stayed at Thai hotel before and it was better than what it is now. Having worked at hotels before, trust me I know that they are either cheap or lazy to place simple orders.
