Stayed at other Marriott hotels in SC but I've never stayed at this hotel before. I loved it. We got close to what we requested as far as an early check in. We recieved a high floor as requested and we got the service that was exquisite. I love the security that this hotel provides. The total price was perfect. The parking connected to hotel was fantastic. The front desk service was so professional and courteous. The area surrounding the hotel met our needs. Unless we were actually traveling around the city, everything was within walking distance. 5 stars all around. Next time we'll request a poolside room as it seems the wife really enjoyed the poolside atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience.
Hall and lobby were clean but room could have been cleaner. Great bed! But, minimal furnishings and little space for your stuff. Shower had no place for shampoos and soaps, razors. Nice in-shower products though, but your things went on the floor. Yuck. Unfortunately the shower leaked and we had to use towels to mop it up every time. Too bad. Okay place but probably won’t stay there again, unless every other place we try is worse.
Great Hotel, Great Location. Nice outdoor pool deck on 6th floor, pool is NOT heated but felt good on warm days, once you got in. Bar was fun, couple nice patios overlooking city. Parking is only $7/night|Went for a "big" birthday and Dragana at the front desk was so nice and so friendly. She gave me a nice room and really made my birthday trip special. Now a days so many hotel employees are burnt out and just going through the motions (who can blame them, have you met the general public?) but Dragana went out of her way to make sure I had a good time and checked on me during my stay. All the staff was really nice but Dragana was AWSOME!
I deleted a previous post about the Aloft. The hotel was actually quite nice, especially the ladies at Starbucks and the staff at the front desk. I didn't like the bartender though, not sure what his name is, but he was always there around 4:30 pm. The food at Wxyz club was horrendous though. I had the fish taco's, and it was literally dry, old breaded fish sticks with coleslaw and avocado. I never saw anyone else eating, must be why. The room was nicely maintained and housekeeping did an amazing job, daily too. Overall, I give it 4 stars. Oh, the shower pressure was good, but the hot water was too cold. Another 5 degrees would have been perfect.
We stayed here for one night during Labor Day weekend. We appreciated that hotel guest parking was located on an upper level (mostly away from hourly parking) so that we didn't feel concerned leaving our vehicle.
The location was convenient because we were able to avoid getting caught in traffic on Main Street when we arrived. The hotel is just off Main Street - if you come out of the elevators on the ground level you walk out into a pedestrian plaza that connects to Main. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurants in the plaza but appreciated the convenience. Since we were so close, we were able to walk through downtown and not have to worry about parking or traffic.
The staff was very nice and efficient. There was a line when we arrived but they got everyone checked in very quickly. We had drinks at the bar in the evening and the bar staff was also friendly and considerate.
I happen to book last minute, and got the last room available this past weekend. The woman at the front was awesome getting me sorted out. I had checked all around and availability everywhere was nothing because of the weekend crowds. She was very helpful. And then my flight got bumped, so I had to re check in today. The same woman checked me in, remembered me by name, and helped me again today. The fact that she remembered me from a few days ago really showed the level of customer service she has. I believe her name was Jorgana? Highly impressed with her customer service skills!
The hotel is in a great location but after inspecting the mattress we found bed bug fecal matter! When I told the front desk and showed them photos they offered another room. There was no apology and they didn’t seem surprised. After pulling back the covers we again found evidence of bed bugs. The mattress had stains as well some hair follicles in it. I usually love Aloft hotels but not this location.
Pleasant checkin process with April. She gave me all the information I needed for my stay. The bartender Garrett was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. The bed was fantastic with pillows that weren't flat. I would stay here again for sure.
