Best WLM Reviews

Recently was in Green Bay for a training and conference. Green Bay had received 3-4 inches of snow overnight. During the check out at the front desk, hotel staff offered to brush off and pull up our vehicle so we did not have to go into the elements. Loved this property along eith its wonderful staff and will definitely be staying here again for all lodging needs in the GB area.
The bar tender Tristan was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We asked for a mixed drink to surprise us. He whipped up a delicious cocktail with beautiful play of flavors across the palette. He made me a killer white Russian with the perfect amount of kick. Hes very friendly as well.. If in Green Bay area a atop the Aloft hotel just to go to the WXYZ bar to have a cocktail made by Tristan is a ABSOLUTE must.
I had to move to a nearby extended stay hotel for work after staying here for 5 days. I left a bathroom scale behind and came back to get it. The lady I spoke to on the phone was super nice and told me to come by anytime to grab it.
When I go to pick it up, I say hello to the gentleman at the front, with whom I had multiple conversations with during my stay, and tell him I’m picking up something I left behind. He then asks for my I.D. While I definitely understand and appreciate precautions, it was extremely off-putting being treated like I had never stepped foot in the building before and was inconveniencing him.
I had stopped in after a jog, so I didn’t have an ID with me. I thought he was kidding, but then said he wasn’t… I told him I had just been there for about a week and that I didn’t had my wallet with me. He finally gave it to me, but it was an uncomfortable experience that made me question the authenticity of the hospitality while I was there if this is how someone is treated when not a paying customer.
24 hour pool, comfy beds, sadly a bunch of staff called in sick, no one to run the shuttle, no bar tender. No free breakfast. Way over priced for the breakfast food they do sell.
*Wedding Block Review*
If you’re looking for a hotel to book for your wedding, do yourself a favor and look anywhere but Aloft.
My wife and I met Aloft representative, Kayla Perron, at a wedding show at the Swan Club. She pitched a “Savvy meeting space” that could be used as a bridal suite. Rooms would be $169 for Regular King or $179 for Two Queen. My wife and I both remember her saying if the Packers do not play that weekend, the price would be less per room. She also offered a bubbly brunch which was priced at $22 a person. We talked with her about shuttle service which she said would be available up until midnight the day of our wedding.
Kayla emailed almost 2 weeks after we signed a contract and said she double booked the bridal suite area. Instead, she offered 2 adjoining rooms and comp’d one hotel room.
As my wife found a hair and makeup stylist months later, we found out there was no way they could use that space because there were no chairs or space for them to be able to do their work. My wife and I work in healthcare, so we trusted that Kayla knew what she was doing when she offered us the space with the two rooms. Clearly she didn’t, and should not have been at a wedding show promoting a hotel space that was not able to accommodate our needs, or should have let us look elsewhere when she double booked. My wife instead had to get ready at the salon on our wedding day & we decided the groomsmen would stay in that space so it didn't go to waste.
Fast forward to the week of the wedding: My wife sent an email asking if a shuttle could be available before the ceremony and the response from Kayla, 4 days from the wedding, was that shuttle service wasn’t available that day. Not even at night. This caused us both to panic & me to have to email and call Kayla to have this resolved. She ended up telling me we needed to call 30 days before our wedding in order to schedule the shuttle service. This was never discussed in our previous conversations and there were no reminders to do so. She was able to get a shuttle driver for the day and comp’d another room because of this ordeal but this wasn't the end of our stress.
Day before the wedding: The hotel is nice and the staff are friendly, so we don’t have anything bad to say about that. However, one of my groomsmen changed his plans and wanted to stay the night so he didn’t have to drive, so he asked the front desk for a room. They took his card information and booked a room, although unsure which one he actually booked because he wasn’t given enough information. Confused, and because I thought the room was going to be comp’d, I asked the front desk to help us make sense of what Kayla’s plans were. The woman working became upset because she said she had no information on what was booked regarding our wedding party. Therefore, Kayla did not leave any detailed outline of what was supposed to happen with our party and also caused stress for her own co-workers.
Day of the wedding: Bubbly brunch was supposed to be picked up from the hotel at 8:45 am so my groomsmen could take it into the salon & bridesmaids could enjoy it there. They had it ready just after 9:00 am and it only included enough for my wife and bridesmaids to have a small portion of food each which was intended to be their brunch until 5:30 pm when our dinner started. Additionally, later, as I was talking with my female cousin in the lobby before the ceremony, a shuttle driver walked up and asked her if it was okay for her and my best man’s wife to ride in his personal car “because it will be less bumpy” than the shuttle.
After: Because of the confusion regarding rooms, we were charged 1 extra room than we planned for. The cost for the rooms remained what she initially pitched even though there wasn’t a Packer game & she told us the would be cheaper. The bubbly brunch was $126 and didn’t feed any of the party well enough to make it through lunch.
Ultimately, we would highly recommend going with a different hotel if you want to avoid stress & poor communication.
Have stayed in the past but, now seems like hotel needs some upgrades or upkeep. Our room had scuffs on the walls and the bathroom door was almost coming off the track so it was very hard to open and close. In the workout room the water machine needed a filter change. By the state of the upkeep of the room I’m wondering how long that’s been needing a change? The staff who checked us in was friendly.
I usually travel quite a bit for business and stay in different hotels. This was my first time at an Aloft hotel, and overall, my experience was kind of mediocre.
I started off in a ground floor room facing the parking lot. At night, I noticed the blinds do not adequately block the light from the bright parking lot lights, making the room quite bright and hard to sleep in. I asked to switch to a room on the opposite side. While there were no king beds available on that side (which was okay), the gentleman at the front desk got me a room with two queen beds facing the water and freeway. It was a nice view.
The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of towels and amenities for multiple nights. They even provided a complimentary bottle of Aquafina water.
Positives:
- Clean rooms and well-maintained.
- The TV has the ability to cast Netflix, YouTube, or similar services.
- The lobby had a great atmosphere with a bar, pool tables, and games like Jenga.
- The world's largest hex nut is just ⅓ mile down the road.
Negatives:
- Both the ground floor and fourth floor had quite low temperature water in the shower.
- The freeway noise is considerable in rooms facing the water.
- The parking lot-facing rooms are too bright at night due to inadequate blinds.
I booked rooms at the Aloft and I had a wonderful lady help me.
Her name is Jaye Simon. This is the first time in 30 years I will need a hotel when visiting my father in DePere. She took extra time helping me with change three reservations. She was patient, kind, and very helpful. Thank you Jaye!
