Best WLM Reviews

Everything from the check in process to the room were excellent. I stayed at a different hotel my first time during my business stay and i checked out because I was not happy. I found this hotel and from the parking being so easy and convenient to the front desk staff was EXCELLENT!!! My trip had many curves however the staff made it easy to check in and out. Upon arriving during a tropical storm the gal who greeted and took care of me was so sweet and kind. She went above and beyond. I checked out a few days later only to check back in that night due to my trip needing to be extended. I can remember the two gals names who greeted me and took care of me that day were so sweet and kind AGAIN. They set me back up in a new room and made sure I was happy and taken care of. This hotel is very clean! Rooms have adequate room and space. I can honestly say this is one of the BEST hotels I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at hotels all around the world. When I am back in Gainesville for work I will be staying here again!
It was perfect for our needs and within walking distance to the Sports Clinic where we had 2 appointments. Check-in was easy and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. We sat at the bar at night and the bartender was very busy. He had to take care of food in the kitchen as well!!! But he kept his cool, friendly attitude and was very attentive. We have to take several more trips to the clinic and will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Check in on Saturday took way too long. Line to check in was to the door and with one desk clerk. I felt bad for her. Saw plenty of other staff walking around but only 1 desk clerk, all hotels should have more than one clerk on weekends. Clerk offered the large party in front of me a free shot at the lounge but didn’t offer to me, which was odd as I waited just as long to check in. Ironing board was broken. Amenities and breakfast, etc was never explained at check in, so we constantly had to ask staff. It was nice to see a pet friendly hotel though.
Leon at the front desk went above and beyond! He went out of his way to make sure I had a gluten free breakfast and brought me and my husband mimosa’s when the lounge bar was not open yet. Super friendly staff from check in to check out. I appreciate the location because getting an Uber on gameday was very easy. Highly recommend staying here.
Nice hotel, good rooms and friendly staff. I loved the location near the University area. Nice to see all the students. However also quitte area at night.
Did not had breakfast so cannot review those parts. Pool looks good but it was raining all the time during my visit so I did not tried it. Gym was nice and plenty of weights to use.
Unfortunately they did only clean the room once for a 5 day visit. I should have asked if they could do it every 2 days. Enough parking spots available. WiFi was good.
The room for the most part is fine. They did not have the iron and ironing board ready in my room. When I ordered 5 breakfast sandwhiches they gave away my order to another family. The concierge promised they would reimburse points to my account but never did. The room itself is fine but the staff is questionable. The concierge seem like they care but there is no follow through with what they say. Overall I’m disappointed that this aloft did not meet the standard.
Never have I been treated so badly by hotel staff. Melanie was horrible. I got my room key and went up and the TV had big stickers that said if you connect your own device you will be charged $200. I decided not to stay there because I wanted to play video games. I went right back downstairs and said that I didn’t want to stay there and they said well sorry but you’re not getting your money back. Never has a hotel treated me that way. I asked for a mgr and she said”for right now I’m the manager” I asked if she would contact the general manager “ he sick, he ain’t gonna talk to you” with a real smirk too. Any other hotel would let you back out if for any reason the room wasn’t satisfactory. She really enjoyed wielding that power to charge me even though I wanted to leave and go to a better hotel.
I always enjoy my stays at the Aloft. I also had a good experience at this location. The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel parking lot is well lit at night so I felt safe coming in and out each night with my kid. It’s also close to many restaurants so good options are plenty. The pool and lunge areas were also bonuses. We sat out doors on the patio and watched sports a few nights and occasionally got in the heated pool. This will be my go to hotel every time I am in town.
