Best WLM Reviews
For starters, I'm not sure this hotel should be calling itself Dulles anything. It is really far away from the airport. A better geographical descriptor would be out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere, because that's exactly where this place was. Maybe that's why the shuttle doesn't appear regularly at the airport. Rather, if you need a shuttle, then you have to call and order it, and to be prepared to then wait for it to come, in my case about 37 minutes. ||Check-in left a lot to be desired. Not that I care to be thanked for my loyalty, which I wasn't here, but at least that establishes that they're aware of it (I'm Titanium). The girl who checked me in at this hotel said not one word that would have led me to believe she knew or cared whether I was Titanium or staying at a Marriott property for the first time in my life. That is, not only was there not the usual thank-you-for-your-loyalty BS, but there was also zero mention of any benefits. She wasn't even interested in making a proactive attempt to sell me breakfast; I guess she wanted only to get back to her cellphone. I had to ask whether I got breakfast or something as a Titanium member to elicit the slightest information in this regard.||It's not a great recommendation when I've only just set foot in the hotel and already know I don't want to stay there again, but that's exactly how it was.||Nothing would have changed that the next day. On the contrary, the person who was working reception when I got up (she said she was the night auditor) informed me that while she wasn't completely certain, she was fairly sure that Titanium did not get breakfast "at this Aloft". In the end, she kindly comped my breakfast (you order something from a rather limited menu), and that is nice, but if the default is no breakfast and everything else depends on the mood and character of the staff, then this is just an additional reason for me not to stay here.||Although one has to place an order for a shuttle when at the airport, paradoxically, getting back to the airport doesn't work like this. I asked at 10:10 and was told the next one would leave at 11:00.
This hotel was fantastic. Not only was the staff very professional and kind, the space was clean and very comfortable. The free coffee and bright/welcoming Lobby was my favourite. Best sleep ever!!
Thank you a million
Had a two day stay and for what it’s worth one of the BEST values in Dulles. Truly a well done new renovation with pool, workout and lounge areas for your stay. Beds are super comfy and rooms are very clean. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. You can’t ask for anything more out of a mid level hotel it’s above average in that respect and the little grab and go breakfast is not bad at all. Showers are just hot enough to feel a mini spa - can’t go wrong here! Had a few issues with casting my content to the TV but the had enough apps so not to miss out on everything. Maybe that was a glitch but Wi-Fi was strong throughout.
We stayed at the A-Loft Hotel near Washington Dulles Airport, and we really enjoyed our experience. During check-in, I requested a room with 2 queen beds. They had one available and gave it to us without any issues, which was very convenient since we had our five-year-old daughter with us, and we wanted her to sleep in a separate bed. We arrived around 11:40 pm, and the bar was already closing. After putting our daughter to bed, which was around midnight, the bartender kindly made us a few drinks and even gave us a beer to take back to our room so we could relax further.
The rooms were very clean and nice, the beds were soft, the shower had good water pressure, and everything was neat and well-maintained. There were plenty of towels. Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel. The next time we head towards Washington Dulles Airport, we’ll definitely stay at the A-Loft again.
Enjoyed the style of this W inspired hotel. Affordable and stylish. Only thing I didn’t really like was beer and drinks served in single use plastic. Irresponsible to the planet and I prefer to drink from a glass. Bed and room comfortable.
I accidentally reserved a room on the wrong week (one week ahead) for a work trip. I arrived at the hotel around 10 PM to check in only to learn of my mistake and that the hotel had no reservations available for the week. No big deal. This was my error. I asked the manager to cancel my future reservations as I wasn't going to be in Virginia that week and she kindly obliged. Fast forward two weeks when I'm doing my expense report and the $532 charge is on my account. I immediately call the hotel and speak with the same manager from the hotel and ask for her to refund the expense. She first responds that I didn't select room insurance and I would most likely not be refunded. As a loyal Bonvoy member, I was shocked at this type of customer service, or rather, lack thereof. She later states that she will have to reach out to her supervisor about the possibility of a refund and that she'll call me back. No such luck. No phone call. I never hear back from her. A few days later I submit a ticket on the Bonvoy website requesting assistance and it's about two weeks later and I don't have a response. I ended up staying at a Courtyard by Marriott a few miles away and actually stayed at the Westin in downtown Detroit this past weekend, so I highly recommend the Marriott brand....just not THIS hotel as the management lacks ethics I would judge very common in the hotel industry. I'm leaving a review today as I just expensed this "purchase" and paid for the $532 on my own dime. If you're the manager of the Aloft Dulles Airport North that failed to assist me, please go to the nearest ATM, take out $500 and throw it in the closest trash can. Just keep in mind, you still have $32 more than me after you're done so you're still ahead.
Nice accommodation. Rooms are small, but comfortable. The rooms did allow sound from the hallway to penetrate. Bed was very comfortable. Shower floors are very slippery when wet.
We were on our way back from Miami to Brussels. Due to flight cancellations and delays, we were stranded in Washington. Therefore, we booked one night here to have at least a couple of hours of sleep.
We arrived at the hotel around 04:45, where the receptionist told us she had cancelled the room. She had no ear for our explanation, even though we were with a child.
Later, we heard from other travelers who were stranded and arrived even later at another airport hotel, they were welcomed and even offered drinks and breakfast despite their short stay and the trouble they had experienced.
Here, we had to stay outside and therefore spent our remaining hours at Starbucks.
One simple message: never again!"
