Best WLM Reviews

We stayed while my husband was receiving radiation treatments at The James cancer hospital and we did not like it. It's all about personal preference and it was just too modern and impersonal for us. We like comfort and the furniture was not comfortable and the beds were subpar. Although it is very updated and nice, we prefer comfort over technology. But it was very close to the hospital.
Upon checking in, I was informed of a $50 deposit requirement. I used my prepaid card, the terminal approved the transaction, and the funds were immediately deducted from my account. However, the clerk claimed that the system did not register my deposit and insisted I pay an additional $50. I checked my bank account, confirmed the funds were removed, and showed them proof. The general manager Flatout lied and I called this lie out and they acted toward me like I was being aggressive when all I was doing was pointing out gross misconduct.
Despite this, management got involved and continued to deny that the deposit had been processed. When I calmly tried to explain the situation, they were dismissive, condescending, and made derogatory comments about me using a prepaid card. This was extremely unprofessional, especially since the card had already fulfilled the deposit requirement.
I also had my support animal with me, which is a medical necessity for managing epilepsy. The stress of this situation could have triggered my condition, yet not once did it seem to occur to them to be accommodating in any way—at an establishment specifically meant to provide accommodations. This complete lack of understanding or compassion made an already bad experience even worse.
Ultimately, they refused to honor my stay, leaving me stranded with no accommodations during a 1,500-mile holiday trip home, even though I had already paid for the room in full. To make matters worse, I now have to wait 5–10 days to have my money refunded. This experience was unacceptable and caused significant stress during what should have been a straightforward transaction.
My family and I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 4 months. All of our stays have been absolutely incredible!!||The whole hotel is immaculate. The rooms are spotless!!||Gwen, the general manager of this property is absolutely incredible. Every single one of our stays she has bent over backwards to take care of us. I can’t thank her enough for everything!!!||The whole staff are so friendly! They have become second family to us since we have stayed super often.||Most of our stays we’ve been in rooms 601 and 605 up on the 6th floor. 601 is a 2 queen, 605 is a king.||We’ve had zero issues with the rooms here, they are all super clean and don’t have any strong chemical smells and/or odors. The place is immaculate!||This has become our official place to stay in Columbus. The location is amazing. You are central to just about anywhere in the city.||The area itself feels pretty safe. I’ve had zero issues. ||To Gwen and the whole staff of the Aloft Columbus University District, thank you so so much for being so good to us!! We appreciate all of you guys!
Why I loved staying here: super friendly to using your own media player. This has been the easiest way to use my Google TV dongle. I showed how it's done in the pictures. No jumping through hoops. The rooms are nice and modern. It just felt more inviting. The TV itself is one of the nicest ones I've seen at a hotel and it's wall mounted. The bed is your typical firm but more comfortable than your average hotel pain. Woke up with no pain. My only knock against the place is I don't like the touch screen elevators at all. I want physical buttons. I will definitely be staying there again.
Aloft Columbus University District: A Modern Oasis
My daughter and I recently enjoyed a delightful stay at the Aloft Ohio State University hotel, a perfect base for our concert adventure. This particular Aloft is a standout, boasting a distinctive aesthetic that sets it apart from its brethren. The hotel's contemporary design is both visually appealing and functionally sound.
The staff welcomed us with open arms and infectious enthusiasm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment we checked in. Our room was a haven of comfort, with a bed that could rival the clouds for sheer coziness. The room's modern design was both stylish and practical.
The hotel’s location is a major plus, with the university campus and a plethora of dining and shopping options within easy walking distance. The nearby Barnes & Noble proved to be a delightful spot for browsing and relaxation.
In conclusion, the Aloft Ohio State University is a shining example of what a hotel should be: stylish, comfortable, and conveniently located. It surpasses other Marriott-branded hotels in the area and is undoubtedly a top choice for any visitor to Columbus.
Room was nice and the bed was super comfortable. They don't have any bathtubs FYI. Great location near the Short North and lots of shops and restaurants close, 20 minutes to Easton. Housekeeping started very early, above my head, which I could hear, and the windows don't block much noise from the outside (ask for a room on the back side of you can). Didn't know this was a Marriott property which was a pleasant surprise.
Stayed for 3 nights in mid-August; had 2 queen bed room, 4th floor facing the front (street); had own car, OSU campus is very close; Target and shopping were 2 minutes up the road; quick eats nearby; floors had such high ceilings, made feel open; lobby is on 2nd floor; there's games (pool) and connect four, etc. No free b-fast provided; Staff was very helpful; had several large packages delivered before arrival and a few smaller ones while there; no issues with storing/obtaining; Note- one side of the hotel faces railroad (could be a bit noisy- even with sound proof-windows)- but I didnt experience any of that; will stay here again when back in Columbus
Nice place to stay, lots of dining options nearby. Close to gas stations and target is right down the road, maybe a 10 minute walk. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were nice. The shower pressure wasn't very great.
