Best WLM Reviews
Positive: The staff was extremely nice and the hotel room was nice roomy and clean. We visited bar in the lobby and the experience was great. Everything exceeded the star rating Negative: The restroom toilet was very low and we had problems with it flushing.
I would advise anyone considering this hotel to avoid it unless you want your room broken into and have your bed left with post adult activity fluids hidden in it so they get on you and have your shower used.||||This is my experience:||Spouse and I Checked in at 6:15. The valet was okay but it’s on the street and it’s also not ez to get into or find the hotel enterance. The room was okay. Nothing fancy. Left to go to a concert at 7:35pm Friday night. Got back to the hotel around 12:00. Finished watching the Jake Paul vs Tyson fight on Netflix while sitting on the edge of the bed.||||Changed into pjs turned out the light got into bed. Noticed my pjs were wet. Pulled back the sheets to find a post adult activity wet spot from a female that had soaked into and saturated my pjs and got on my skin. Wasn’t ours as neither of us is a female. Stripped down and threw on another set of clothes to go to front desk. No one around except a security guard. Waited 10 mins with the smell of it still on me. When she finally showed up the Desk person joked and laughed with security guard not taking it serious laughing about something else they were talking about. Came back into my room with me and they downplayed it until they saw and smelled it. ||||They went to find us another room. I went to go shower and noticed wet foot prints in the shower bathroom area that had been used along with a towel on the ground.||Called the police because front desk staff still not taking it serious to look into who broke into our room and had sex and used the shower. Showered off the nastiness in another room and gave police statement. We were not going to stay there due to clear safety issues.||All hotels in town were booked for a marathon the next day so at 2:15am drove 1:45 home after having been up since 5:30am prior day.||||Tried to report the issue online and “Marriott servers are not working” to be able to submit. Tried several times today. clearly they don’t care about concerns submitted online. No one from hotel has called me. Will be calling corporate on Monday. They refunded my room. Good. We didn’t stay there.||We have photo evidence I can’t post here due to Google graphics rules.
My manager, a Bonvoy Tiatanium Elite member, called me this morning to immediately find him another hotel. I was very surprised, as the other manager who specifically asked for this hotel is quite PICKY and insists that he stays in modern, clean, upscale hotels! (HE hasn't checked in yet btw...afraid of the phone call to come later!). I asked what the issue was and was told it started upon arrival. He received no "Welcome to Aloft!" or anything. Said the attitude was more like, "Yeah...whatever." Totally unprofessional staff. Check-in took forever. Staff was more interested in getting back to chatting or cell phone usage rather than ensuring quality guest relations. He said the hotel was 'dirty'. I asked for more info and was told it was not so much like dirt dirty, it just gives off a dirty "vibe". The area is not safe, the hotel has untrained/uncaring staff, and the hotel itself is in need of updating and a thorough cleaning; even the other guests he saw seemed unsavory. Said he STILL cannot figure out the parking situation. Not a good representation of the Bonvoy brand. In 10 years of heavy travel, I have only received this type of feed back on 3 Bonvoy hotels. That can't be a good sign for this location.
The hotel was great and I had an amazing time but the best part was Honestly. I was having a payment issue because I booked the room through AIRBNB and she helped me a lot. She was patient and super nice!
Hotel has gone downhill and is in bad need of an overhaul. It’s maintenance is basically non existent. Carpets stained, the shower handle was falling off and worst of all the toilet seat had blood smeared on it in the room. They cleaned it up when it was mentioned but no offer of any kind to make up for the issues. It’s in a horrible location and very hard to find as well. It’s just not up to par for the Aloft of Marriott brand. This experience made me not want to stay at any aloft in the future.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!! Was not able to stay because the front desk agent failed to tell me that they only accept certain forms of payment. My card was debited over $400 and we were told that we could not be accommodated because the system declined the payment even though I watched the debit keypad say “approved” and the money was taken out of my account. This happened at 8pm on a Friday night in Charlotte and by this point, every hotel in the city and surrounding areas were booked. We had to sleep in our car for the night and the front desk agent did not care and made it seem like we made the mistake. I would never ever attempt to stay here again. Terrible customer service. If you want to stay at a hotel where the customer service is amazing, the hotel is clean, beautiful views of the city, AND they accept every form of payment, go right next door to the AC hotel Center City.
I really don't understand all the bad reviews, this hotel was perfectly fine. It's not a luxury hotel, but I wasn't expecting it to be. Rooms were clean and had everything I needed. Some attention to detail when it comes to upkeep and maintenance could go a long way, but by no means would I say that the hotel was "run-down", it could just use a little polish. Front Desk staff during the day were friendly, bartender was great, and housekeeping staff were also friendly. Hallways were loud in the mornings, not sure if it was other guests or staff slamming doors constantly, street noise was also loud inside, but I became used to it quickly. Access to the hotel is not nearly as confusing as other reviews made it out to be, having a lobby that is not on the main floor/street level is not that weird or inconvenient. Overall I was happy with my stay and would consider the hotel again on a future visit.
I had a very expensive item taken from the room in this hotel! We are Platinum Elite Marriott members, and have stayed in over 100 Marriott's, and have NEVER experienced anything like this hotel. When we arrived our safe was being re-keyed and we had no way to lock up our valuables. Mistakenly, we called about this which put a target on our room. When we went to dinner the item went missing and after a week, the manager (who took four days to get back to us and only did so once I filed a formal complaint) told us every time we spoke "They were looking for it" (it is gone, buddy)! I filed a police report and they feel it was stolen and agree we were targeted and shared they had complaints around this hotel before. What I have learned is that the A loft takes no responsibility for their staff and you would think a large company like the Marriott would stand behind their reputation and do something. I have asked them to pull camera footage (they say they do not have any in the hallway) and this is negligence since the safes were unavailable and the item went missing from my suitcase. If your item goes missing it is your fault no matter if it is stolen or lost and the hotel can do as they please which is UNNACCEPTABLE! Marriott do the right thing and stand by your customers!
