Best WLM Reviews
My friend and I went on the 1st of November.
We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. I got the Chicken Strips with Fries, and my friend got the Club Sandwich.
Ashley was our hostess and she was so inviting and welcoming. She made anything that I could say wasn't favorable...better. Even the cook came out to ask about our meal. They both were super! As for our meal, I ordered the shrimp basket with onion rings and slaw, everything was hot on arrival, real onions (not minced) and we're both coleslaw snobs, it was good. Hubby ordered fish and chips w/ slaw. Nothing to complain about. Would definitely visit again when in the area. Portions were comparable to prices.
We had a delicious lunch here! Great service and even better food. I highly recommend the Reuben! The buffalo chicken wrap was also very good. The best part- the amazing fries! Fresh cut and crispy. Best fries in Harper’s Ferry! The prices were very reasonable and we’d absolutely eat here again.
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch after hiking Jefferson Rock in Harpers Ferry. The food was delicious! I ordered the crabcake sandwich.
Unfortunately the Service was horrible. They don’t know what genuine hospitality is at this place. I went to have lunch with my parents. It was a seat yourself restaurant so we look for an empty table. Every single empty tables was not cleaned nor wipped. The waitress wouldn’t show up, neither greet or stop by. I had to go and approach the staff but they were only replying I am busy, I can’t help you now. When finally my waitress Kendra N, she was rude, very unpolite, unprofessional. I gave her our order right away. Other guests arrived after we did, and they started to get their food before we did. It had passed 50 minutes by the time we finally got our food. On top of that she gave me the wrong side that I didn’t want, so I didn’t eat it. In the menu the burger said it was 1/2lb burger. But I got 1/8lb burger instead. I work in the industry , and I am really aware of the sizes of the patties. And now that a couple of days had gone by. I check my bank and realized I have been charged additional money for the tip. What a scam and a horrible place to be! Never recommend this place. Please don’t ever eat or spend your money at this location.
My boyfriend and I had lunch here today we came at 1:45 and did not leave till 3. We waited forever to get seated. No workers came up to us or others waiting to be seated. When we got seated, we ordered with our drinks and it took 50 minutes for our food to come out. Our waitress, sierra, never came back to check on us, refill drinks, etc. I had to go up to the counter to ask when our food would be ready and the waitresses blew me off and were very rude to me about it. The food is not worth the $30 we spent. The BBQ Chicken sandwich had no BBQ on it and my boyfriend’s buffalo chicken wrap had no buffalo sauce on it. I once again had to get out of my seat and find a waitress to get sauce. As a tourist, I looked forward to this pub because of the name but would NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE. You will be disappointed and leave angry.
Had a really nice lunch here in April 2019. Sat upstairs and inside the dining room. Really cool layout. They preserved the old style of the building.
The service was great. Our food came out quickly. The only issue was that the fries were old, but our server brought fresh fries out after we asked.
We had the burger, cheesesteak,Reuben, turkey club and wings. Everything was so good! I'd highly recommend the burger. Had two different local beers, both were so-so (amber ale and lager). All in all, a great lunch and dinner spot. It probably gets really crowded during the tourist season though.
GREAT beer, worst fries, cold welcome.
After hiking two days on the AT, my son & I went to AHP&G for a treat. We walked in, saw a sign to seat ourselves, waited, waited, called & knocked & waited (heard voices in the kitchen), and finally a woman came out to tell us rather brusquely to go upstairs for service. Harrumph.
We sat outside. Our young waiter was prompt and friendly (5 stars for him). The Cold Trail beer was lovely. The hot coffee was served in doubled SODA cups WITH STRAWS. Seriously???
The fries were the WORST I've ever had. (Another person there agreed with us.) The three soft pretzels were NOT served with a hot sauce, but some nondescript stuff. Unimpressive.
I had a second Cold Trail, and my son had an Almost Heaven. Glad for the fresh draught beers, but the pre-tip bill around $48 was not worth it.
