Best WLM Reviews
Delicious walk-in dinner option while visiting Atlanta. We started off our meal with the sampler. I definitely feel for a group it changes the typical chips and guacamole most establishments provide. It was very flavorful and unique. A must try for sure!
I enjoyed the fried shrimp tacos with esquites and sweet plantains. My meal was perfectly paired perfectly with a light but refreshing Cantarita. This was a delicious meal that I has left me wanting to enjoy it again in the near future.
Service was excellent, drinks were spectacular, and the food was packed with flavor. We had the salsa trio, sangria, chicken tinga tacos, and carnitas tacos. We ate every last crumb! The sangria was so good, my friend and I each had two.
The company I work for made lunch reservations for the employees and some of our clients. What I got from the manager is that he wasn't too thrilled to serve us. ( The CEO and most of the employees are African-Americans. The manager was Latin.) Anyway as for service well when the waiter was refilling everyone's drink except mine. I called him twice and still no response. Until one of my coworkers called him over and told him I was overlooked. I got my water and he did apologize for overlooking me. I believe it was sincere far the restaurant filled up pretty quickly after 15 minutes. As for the food you don't get enough considering the prices, but it was okay. I did enjoy the shrimp tacos I had, but the rice wasn't hitting on anything until I mixed it with the black beans. Would I go again? Yes, but next time I'll go in the evening to see how it is.
We stopped into this restaurant on a whim because it was close to our hotel and are really glad we did. If it is a bit pricey, but everything we had was absolutely delicious and I would definitely go back again. We had the chips and salsa, empanadas, and tacos, El Pastor.
Cool place, good vibes! Great food. The fried cheese is interesting. I did not try it but saw it on the other Google reviews and other tables.
The coolest dish at my table was the fried cod fish.
Everything was good.
For dessert, the chocolate sauces were very good but the churros fell short of my liking and others likings at my table. I think the churros were fried too hard or something.
Overall, good experience!
We went for date night dinner on special occasion. The Smokey dove drink was strong. The guacamole trio was mouthwatering delicious. We had prawns as appetizer and it was good too. We had NY strip steak which was tender and juicy and we also had market fish which was trout. My husband didn’t really like the fish though. The churros came with banana pudding and chocolate sauce.
P.S- reach early to find garage parking nearby cuz they get filled up real fast
Have been meaning to stop in as I frequent the area. For the price point, the food definitely could have been a lot better. The salsa trio was OK, but the fried tortilla rounds was a good touch as you can make a dippable chip the size you would like. The shrimp tacos fell really flat. The chipotle salsa was not really present and the shrimp was so overcooked, that it looked like I had 3 rock shrimp on a tortilla. The shrimp did not even cover the small tortilla. The esquites was very flavorful and a great side.
Now the blood orange margarita was very good. Well balanced, and great blood orange flavor.
Here’s a suggested Google review for Alma Cocina Downtown Atlanta:
"I visited Alma Cocina Downtown Atlanta for lunch on 16th August and ordered the tacos. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, perfect for a midday break. The tacos were flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared with a good balance of ingredients. The staff was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. It’s a great spot for a delicious lunch in downtown Atlanta, and I’d definitely return to try more items from the menu."
