Best WLM Reviews
The best saved for last. The dessert was seriously out of this world and loved every bite. Crab/alligator cakes were a bit dry and not the best. One of the scallops was pure ammonia but they made good on it and took it off. First time having kangaroo and loved it. The gumbo was amazing. If I could do it all over again, nix the scallops and crab/alligator cakes, and get the gumbo, dessert, and special.
Service was really really good!
Beautiful basement level restaurant in what I assume was a historic building, but to be honest we didn’t hear anything about it. We were just happy they were willing to seat us late in the evening at the bar since they were booked for table reservations.
A lot of unique and delicious dishes on the menu - including gumbo with unbelievably flavorful frog legs! The alligator mac and jalapeño poppers were also fantastic.
This is not a casual dining spot, so expect to spend a bit - but it’s totally worth it. A really hip, elegant and different space with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Highly recommended.
My husband and I picked Savannah GA to celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary, and I made reservations at Alligator Soul, I will tell you, it was one of the most delicious meals we've ever had, and Bethany our server is such a wonderful young lady, very sweet, engaging and just has the warmest personalities. The sheep head fish was divine, and the Elk was delicious, too. The frog legs were the best we've ever had. I would recommend anyone visiting Savannah GA, dine at Alligator Soul!
The service was incredible; however, the food didn't match the level of service and decor. Generally, the dishes were okay, but the baked brie was cool in the center when I expected warm and gooey cheese upon cutting. The crab cake was a little dry, the scallops were charred too much, and the croutons in the salad were a bit soggy. I mostly enjoyed the wine, with hidden gems to be found in the expansive list.
I’ve wanted to try Alligator Soul for 3 years. Yesterday I had my birthday dinner there thank to my wife.
The food, atmosphere and service were excellent! For starters we had the Alligator Bites, Shrimp and Grits, Gumbo and the Alligator Mac and Cheese which was the best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had! Our server Judd was great and I decided to try the Antelope Steak which was phenomenal. The wife had the crab cake she liked it and so did I.
For dessert had coffee and the banana cheesecake yum.
Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
My family and I was passing through Savanah, GA on the way to our vacation in NC. I looked up dinner options and was thrilled to check out this restaurant, based on location and food offerings.
Once we showed up, I quickly realized that place was packed and we didn't have a reservation...
Seeing a clear disappointment in our faces
The hostess ran after us ( would never happen back home in Miami!!!!!) and after 5 min wait produced a table for us in a completely booked place!!!
The food, the atmosphere, the service was absolutely amazing ????
Highly recommend for a unique bites, romantic dinner date or special occasion!!!!
Alligator Soul creates a unique classic, personal experience with a lot of privacy and superb service. The food is excellent. We had the alligator bites, mac & cheese, antilope and the lamb which all were delicious and cooked to perfection. The sauces accompanied and elevated the dishes. The only thing that was disappointing was the gumbo and flavorless fried green tomatoes...and that they forgot to bring me my leftovers to take home as I had asked for.
This is definitely a nice place to come for a special night with your significant other.
Anne was great! She was personable and she knew that the hummus with ants ???? ???? were no bueno for me since I have a shellfish allergy! WOW! The elk wild game dinner, frog legs and gator appetizers were on point!
