ILLEGAL PRACTICES
I was a former patient at this place and was given over to a new doctor, Jamie Alverez after Dr. Sharma left.
I never saw her but spoke to her once; the proceeding times were all with nurses because Alverez was never available. As a doctor, you need to be available to your patients.
I had run out of my antidepressants and never got a call back when I left a message asking for a refill. Had to call my pharmacy to see if they can push it and they too got no response. I finally got someone at Alliance who barely spoke English and would mumble in Spanish and the answers given to me were half English, half Spanish.
I got frustrated and asked for someone who can speak English and the person clearly didn't understand. I was asking for my medical record to be given to me for mental help with another company, they needed my record.
I was told by an Alliance member that I cannot have my medical record. My medical record is mine by right and it is illegal to withhold a patient's medical record from them. I said Alliance will deal with my lawyer if they would not give it to me. I filed the paperwork to sign over authorization for my record to be released to the proper party and that request was denied without a single word as to why; another illegal practice.
My prescriber Dr. Alverez never filled my rx, I had to have a nurse practitioner fill an emergency script because I was going on day 2 of cold turkey on my antidepressants (extremely dangerous) My medical record was never released and I had to start all over with a new psychiatrist at an entirely new company.
To this day, I have not heard from Dr. Alverez. No follow up, no phone call, email, nothing. I was abandoned by my own psychiatrist.
Stay far, far away from this place. There is no professionalism, no thought to the patients, very poorly run (no one is ever available in the records department) and I will never recommend them.
I don't care if I get a response on here from them about emailing them or an apology, keep it. Don't respond to this review, Alliance, I don't want to hear it.
What you are doing to your patients is illegal.
I can't recommend being a patient of Patti Chervitz enough.
She changed my entire approach to psychiatry appointments. I used to see it as a transaction where I come in, get a medication that I've been on before, and then leave.
But Patti was personable, always taught me something new with each appointment, caring, attentive, and most of all - a great conversationalist.
She stays up to date on current events and technology, she's constantly informing me about new things even in my own field, and one of the best parts about the whole experience is - it was completely online (AND she usually has appointment slots at noon so you can take an appointment during a lunch break on your phone or computer!!!!!).
I unfortunately am moving to another state, but for anyone seeking a psychiatrist - you should definitely consider asking for Patti Chervitz if you want someone who is flexible, interested in giving you the best treatment, and also makes the whole process of refilling medication painless.
I'm a complete nerd who isn't the most socially adjusted person, and I can say that Patti made the appointments feel like you were just talking to a friend.
Yobel is awesome. Understanding and he listens. Really sweet and never a long wait. I also referred him to my sister as well. The staff service is great. You can always reach them. Great place!
This office has no idea how to run insurance. I've had the same insurance for a long time, which will never change because it's VA for life. I haven’t seen my psychiatrist in four months because this office has no idea how to verify insurance. I've even three way called the VA so they could tell Alliance insurance info. I miss appointments because they say they can’t figure it out. The only reason why I’m giving a two-star review is because I love my psychiatrist, Dr. Suba; otherwise, it would be a one-star review. I wish he wasn’t part of this office. But it’s very difficult when they outsource their billing department. People who need help can't even get it due to the incompetence of this office billing department.
Review for Alliance Mental Health
Yesterday, I visited Alliance Mental Health due to my struggles with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Unfortunately, the receptionist on the left did not provide the level of care one would expect from a mental health clinic. While she did not use rude language, her demeanor was far from friendly. She never smiled, spoke with impatience, and although she used polite expressions, the tone was harsh. For someone battling the conditions I face, this kind of interaction can be detrimental rather than supportive. I understand that everyone has bad days, but I would appreciate it if the management could address this with their front desk staff. A simple smile and a warm tone can make a significant difference for those seeking help.
Yesterday I spoke with a gentlemen from their scheduling department who told me to show up at their office at 10:30am to fill out any paperwork and I would be seen by Marilyn Alvarez at 11:00am. 9:45am the day of, I received a phone message from their scheduling department and spoke with a female named KAT, who spoke broken English who told me my appointment has been moved to 11:45 am.
I explained to her that’s not the time I was told yesterday and I’m goin to have to cancel and call back to reschedule because I can’t make it at 11:45 am, but she insisted on telling me that they don’t have a same day cancelation policy. It was as if she didn’t even comprehend what I was trying to explain to her. Unbelievably frustrating.
This is the SECOND person at their scheduling department who spoke broken English and was very difficult to talk to. Their bedside manner was horrible, they didn’t understand what I was explaining to them and could not trouble shoot or find a reasonable solution to make me feel confident and comfortable making any further appointments with them.
I asked to speak to someone else and she acted like a deer in headlights, clueless on who to contact and or what to do. I felt as if I was in a foreign country talking to incompetent people who can’t speak proper english, don’t know how to deal with patients and can only follow a script and push buttons. Other than that they are pretty useless. Besides this they have the nerve to want to charge you $50 same day cancellation fee. Maybe they should start hiring better people to handle their scheduling and they wouldn’t have so many cancellations. What a joke.
I regret to say that I don’t feel comfortable and have zero confidence trusting this practice & scheduling department to meet my needs as a new patient and will be looking elsewhere.
Very professional and helpful. Dr.Azim is so helpful . She assisted me in obtaining disability. I would recommend Dr. Azim to anyone who needs assistance with mental illness. Her assistant, Dory, is extremely helpful getting your needs meet. She has helped me tremendously. All office staff very nice, helpful and they all focus on clients needs .
Be CAREFUL of the pitfalls! They do not frankly confirm you with insurance coverage like other places do. All the clinics I called before will frankly tell me they are out of network even without asking. I have double-checked with this place over the phone and in person about whether they are in the network. Every time, they said they accepted the insurance. But I end up having to pay $600+ by myself because they turn out to be out of network! They do not care whether you waste your money on surprising bills even with insurance. Unprofessional! This is the very first time that I have had to dispute a medical bill in the last 15 years!
