Best WLM Reviews
Alli’s gets 4 stars for being quick, reasonably priced, convenient, and a little nostalgic: like the restaurants of my youth with advertising sold on the tabletops. The beef tips that I ordered were pretty good; I’d never had them done that way and I liked it. I’ll probably go back and try it again someday, but it hit the spot on this night, after a long day of work.
Truckers have stopped here every since Route 66 cut threw Springfield, if I'm wrong let me know. I remember parking here a few times. (back Wayne Daniels drove cabover Marmon Tractors) & (J.B. Hunt drove cabover Freightliner/Corn Binder's) It's still good comfort food any day of the week.
Owner was super nice m. Greeted me personally. Wash out bay was fast and efficient. Great service highly recommended
Me and my brother were treated terribly and I'm pretty sure it was because we were the only black patrons.
They looked shocked when we walked through the door, and barely acknowledged our existence the entire time despite the restaurant only having a few other tables. I tried to make conversation with our waitress when she asked what we wanted and I told her that we were new there and she just walked away without a word. The other waitress would quickly look away if we made eye contact with her which made us so uncomfortable it's not even funny.
When we got our food, it was tough and flavorless and by that time I was ready to go. Our waitress had given us our check early on in the meal so by the time we were done I was trying to get the attention of the waitresses by looking their way and they just straight up ignored us.
I go to the counter to ask where we pay and without looking up at me she says you pay up here (which would've been nice to know when we were given our check) and they finally rang us up for our meals. I grabbed my little brother and we left and they said NOTHING to us as we left. No goodbye, no have a nice day. It was extremely clear they didn't want us there and I've not been that uncomfortable in a long time.
If you're white and like to eat overcooked mediocre food, by all means go to Alli's Family Restaurant. But if you're a minority, and like to be treated like a person while you eat out, please go somewhere else.
TL;DR: if you're not white, eat somewhere else.
Probably the worst experience I've ever had. If you're expecting any kind of welcoming environment, don't come here (if you're black, that is). Our waitress showed us no hospitality; she didn't even introduce herself. My sister attempted to smile at another waitress but was completely ignored. As for the food, calling it mediocre is a reach; the shrimp was gummy, the baked potatoes were undercooked, my steak was overdone, and my sister's chicken was dry. The only good thing that we had here was the soup. After my sister informed our waitress that we hadn't been there before, she left our check on the table and disappeared. We waited at our table for about 10 minutes before my sister went up to see whether or not we should pay at the front, at which point she was told we were by a woman who wouldn't even look her in the face. When we finally left, they didn't say "Have a nice day" or anything like that to us.
It's actually wild that customer service can be this bad.
Very fresh and tasty in a rustic environment. The fries were very tasty.
Heading home we always stop for breakfast. I typically google "food near me" and usually try to find a place we have not eaten at before and has good ratings. I chose Alli's due to the location. The food was great and the portions were huge. Price was fair and considering the current times VERY reasonable. It is an old diner and the clientele appears to be all locals and regulars. The staff was pleasnt, friendly and kind hearted. If you're hungry and enjoy a great breakfast this place will not disappoint.
Every time I have gone here we get the same thing and the recipe is always different this time I had them send it back I am currently pregnant. I was about to cry when I saw the food on how it looked and how it was prepared I asked them to remake it. The waitress looked stunned. Like I had a complaint. I told her I always get this omelette. It’s never looked like this. I tell her to please take it back and remake it like the way it is on the menu And she takes Bring it back in two minutes when she’s just thrown it all in the omelette and this time the cheese wasn’t even melted onions were so overpowering. There was more onions than there Or hashbrowns in the Miami omelette. The only thing I was able to eat was. The over medium eggs and a bite of the biscuit and gravy man went up and paid the waitress and I saw with my own eyes and we go up there and I’m like just making Everything’s taken care of it’s all paid for and the guy up there was like no it hasn’t been paid for and we’re like well. We paid the lady we paid her $40 and. Didn’t pay me anything and I’m saying out really loud well I did see him give you the money and I said it loud enough where people were looking she said oh yeah I remember now here it is Took that money that my man gave them and paid for it, but for the fact that they tried to say we didn’t pay when I saw him hand, the waitress the money, and she tried to lie about it until I got a little loud saying while I saw my man hand you the money, so where did that money go Here it is my bad and I told them we need any of it. It was made after being sent back so we just left our food there and we will never be back and I will make sure I spread the word to every local website every review site to let people to let people know how crooked they are and we’re regulars there and every single time we have had an issue they get attitude they never want to refill our drinks. It takes over 10 minutes just to get a refill when the diner is almost completely empty just Will not be back and I hope everybody he read this does not come at me side Because you can use the pictures as reference that was the made not the first time. Wish I would’ve got a picture of the first time so you would understand what I’m talking about.
