Came here for a quick lunch. The cocktails were very good. Definitely try the sugar plum cocktail it is so good and I wish I had had a second one. Mac and cheese is on point, the chicken sandwich is too good HIGHLY recommend. You can’t really go wrong here. The only thing that wasn’t great was the amount of time we waited for drinks. Perhaps they were understaffed? Despite that everyone was friendly so overall it was a pleasant experience.
Wonderful bistro in the heart of the city. Farm to table restaurant so you get healthy options and support the local economy. I had the Thai themed salad which had maybe a little more oil on it than needed but chicken tasted great as an add on. The burgers were great per my table mates!
Reasonably priced, quick and efficient service. Definitely, check it out and give it some love.
We went there on Sunday around noon. My husband got the charcuterie board and I ordered the Belle of the ball salad and I added blackened shrimp. Everything was delicious!! The board had so many different and interesting pieces to it!! Each bite was a different flavor combination!! And my salad was delicious all around!! We also ordered the key lime cheesecake and the angel food cake to go!! Those were amazing as well!!! Fun atmosphere and great service too!!
Overall, our experience at Allegory was quite good. There is a very good vibe to the place and everyone was pleasant and friendly. Our waitress, in particular, was excellent. I commented that I thought their homemade hot sauce was fantastic and she brought me a to go cup of it without any prompting. It was a very kind gesture. It’s clear they take hospitality seriously. The only issue we had was with the food, but not the flavor, which was excellent, but rather overcooking. I got their rendition of chicken and waffles and the waffle was top notch, the syrup amazing, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. The breading fell off the chicken and there were several pieces that were too hard for me to even chew through. The actual flavor was good, but it was so overdone it ruined the dish a little. And I liked the bacon, but it could have used some seasoning. And the breading issue continued with the fish fry, as the breading flaked off the fish, making it difficult to eat. I’d definitely eat here again, and I’d even get the Chicken and Waffles again, but they definitely need to step up their breading and frying game.
The food was fantastic! The only thing is I wish the truffle fries were a little more crispy, they were a little soggy when they arrived. Our waiter was also very kind and patient. I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
Tuesday night for dinner. We had reservations for 5. We were seated. Waiter came and greeted us, and took our drink orders. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks. We saw him and asked about our drinks, and he told us the bar was still working on the drinks. To be clear, this was a bottle of wine; a rum & Coke, and an Old Fashioned. Then he took our dinner orders. The drinks finally came. The dinners came 5 minutes after the drinks. One order, a salad, was missing the chicken, but they brought it out pretty quickly. Another order was not hot, more like room temperature. My own order was the Dad Bod, a burger. I ordered it medium, expecting the “farm to table” burger to be delicious. It was average at best; definitely not medium, kind of dry. Drowned in their “super secret sauce”. The bun was smaller than the burger patty, and the whole thing was soggy. Some of the lettuce greens were more than wilted.

Great chef themed spot in the middle of Naperville. Great alternative to chains and a surprisingly good menu including the chefs take on tacos and chilaquiles that delivered awesome taste profile and the right quantity. Dine in, take out or sit at the bar. The pork belly sliders were a favorite appetizer.
Can get busy so reservations encouraged
A true farm to table experience with excellent entree choices and the best charcuterie board around hands down. We have been there twice now once for a family dinner and once for a date dinner with my boo. Outstanding service and a really cool vibe!
