Best WLM Reviews

I heard about this place through a FB group and we were craving Indo-Chinese. Came here on a Sat night and were greeted and seated immediately.
We ordered Chilli chicken gravy, Paneer 88, fried rice and schezwan noodles. The only item that tasted good was the chicken. All other items were bland. The quantity is not great either. For those prices, you’d expect some complementary steamed rice and the tray/dish filled with food. Service was good.
Unfortunately, will not return. There are other places in the city that offer better tasting dishes more quantity!
On a Saturday evening, our group of four decided to dine at Aling's Chinese Bistro, a well-known spot for Indo-Chinese cuisine in Sugar Land, Texas. Located in a diverse city, Aling’s has a reputation for unique flavors that blend Chinese techniques with Indian spices, and we were eager to see if it lived up to the hype. We arrived around 6:45 p.m. and were seated fairly quickly, despite the busy dinner rush. Right from the start, the warm and inviting atmosphere set a positive tone for our dining experience.
Our experience began with outstanding service; our waiter was friendly and attentive, giving us extra time to decide on our orders. This personal touch made us feel welcome and unhurried, a pleasant contrast to many bustling eateries. For appetizers, we ordered a variety to get a taste of Aling's range: hot and sour soup, chicken dumplings, crispy wings, and chili chicken. To our delight, all of them arrived in under five minutes. The hot and sour soup had a balanced, flavorful kick without being overpoweringly spicy. The chicken dumplings were tender, with a savory filling that paired well with the tangy dipping sauce. The crispy wings were just as described—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and seasoned perfectly. Finally, the chili chicken was a star, offering a burst of spice and flavor in every bite. It was a fantastic start to the meal, and we couldn’t wait for the mains.
Our main courses included a mix of garlic shrimp, honey chili chicken, Manchurian fried rice, and the Meeri Meeri sizzlers. Impressively, the food arrived within 10 minutes, which was quite fast considering the crowd. The garlic shrimp had a nice garlicky aroma and a perfect blend of spices, with each bite flavorful and fresh. The honey chili chicken had a delightful contrast between sweet and spicy, and the crispiness of the chicken was spot on. The Manchurian fried rice was a true treat, packed with veggies and tossed in a tangy sauce that complemented the spices well. Lastly, the Meeri Meeri sizzlers stole the show, arriving on a hot platter with an aromatic blend of sauces, vegetables, and chicken. Each dish was well-prepared, served in generous portions, and had a unique flavor profile that kept things exciting. We even were able to take leftovers due to the amount of food they gave us.
For dessert, we ordered the Lava Bite, a sweet and satisfying finish to our meal. The Lava Bite was perfectly warm and gooey on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness, and left us feeling content. Throughout the meal, our waiter continued to be attentive, checking in with us and ensuring we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive. The service truly enhanced our experience, adding to the warm ambiance and making us feel well taken care of.
In conclusion, our dining experience at Aling’s Chinese Bistro was delightful. I would rate the experience a solid 9/10, because even though the food was amazing, a full course meal from appetizers, the main dish, and dessert could cost a person $30-$50. The flavorful Indo-Chinese cuisine, quick and courteous service, and inviting atmosphere make it a great choice for anyone craving something unique. With reasonable prices, generous portions, and a broad selection of dishes, Aling’s is a place we’d highly recommend to anyone, whether they’re a fan of Chinese cuisine or just looking to try something new.
Our favorite indo chinese place. Service is always great. Just a heads up they charge 20% gratuity for parties above 5 which in my opinion is a bit high. We ordered hot and sour soup, sweet corn (which is a bit too sweet), chilli wings (tasted amazing, crispy and full of flavor and are huge), chilli beef (very tender beef pieces), chicken schezwan fried rice and kids sweet and sour chicken with noodles. Portion sizes are huge and justify the price. Soup literally comes in whilst placing the order, its that fast :) My only suggestion to the management would be to wait a few mins to bring out the main course after bringing in the appetizer. We had just started on the wings when the main course came in.
They have a lovely patio but iv never seen people dining out there. Not sure if they dont open it or people just prefer to dine inside. Also have a bar with alot of varieties. Their smoothies and slushies taste awesome but are pricey.
We had meant to try Alings for a while now, and date night seemed perfect. We had dinner.
.
After a brief time at our table which allowed us to review the menu, our waiter arrived to begin service. We ordered drinks, then I had some questions for the waiter.
.
I had checked the online menu and preliminarily decided on Szechuan noodles. I noted that nearly all the Szechuan dishes were "OUT". Why? It was explained that they couldn't get the sauce. Hmmm, they don't make the sauce? Hmmm.
.
Anyways, I ordered the chili fries as an app and Chinese chow main as my meal. The waiter described the dish as "the flat", which I thought would pair well with spicy fries. My lady ordered Shrimp 88.
.
The fries arrived first, of course. They were really delicious! Also, pretty hot. I loved them.
.
Our mains arrived, and goodness the portions were huge. I ate maybe 1/5, and she ate perhaps 1/3. My dish was indeed pretty bland. Hers was good. We took home a shopping bag of leftovers.
.
It was a nice experience. Next time we'll split an entree.
Firstly, I would like to thank all the servers. They were very respectful, very kind and attentive throughout the time we were in the restaurant. The food delivery was on time. We waited less than 10 minutes after we ordered our food and the food was very hot so it was tasting amazing. Loved every food, the Gobi Manchurian was delicious, french fries were hot. Chicken lollipops were ok to taste not that great. Sz French fries tasted good. Veg tikki fritters were just too good. They have kids menu and trust me the kids menu food is really big portion, my two kids couldn’t finish it. It’s really big so their quantity is very good and of course the quality is good too. Drinks ,the ice cream everything was amazing we loved everything about the restaurant. Ambience is so good. The parking is available. They have a very huge parking lot, surely gonna come back again.
Food here is just ok. We got a variety of things, listed below with asterisks to indicate what we would get again:
- Man Chow Soup
- Hakka Noodles*
- Chili Chicken*
- Chicken Lollipops
- Szechwan Fried Rice with Chicken
- Gobi Manchurian
