Hong Kong style casual dining that’s familiar to those who have had it! Walked in at 9pm and was seated immediately. They were fine serving us knowing they close at 10pm because they are quick in cranking everything out. We ordered a variety of dishes such as baked rice and noodle soup and everything arrived quick and as expected. We did enjoy their chicken wings with spicy salt as well as their Bolo Bao with Butter. Yum! Oh and of course unlimited refills of iced lemon tea is like icing on the cake. The restaurant can get very noisy and hot depending on where you sit and who you sit next to so don’t expect quaint low key conversations to be heard. We were seated next to a table of 6 very loud people and had to yell at each other to hear over them. Although 10pm was coming quickly they weren’t rude in gently getting us to completion. After we were aware of the time, we finished and packed up the remaining food in to go boxes. They casually gave us to go cups for the rest of our teas so that was out cue to leave! ????????????
Authentic Hong Kong style restaurant with great menu. The food are all delicious and authentic. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is true to HK style. We tried various noodles, fried rice and drinks, all amazing.
A work peer let me know that if I like Chinese breakfast I must try Alice's kitchen and I am furious I was not told about this spot before! Their extra large pineapple bread sandwiches are ????. Cannot explain it any better. Great porridge and different types of noodle soups! ???? Fantastic Hong Kong style breakfast!
The restaurant was highly recommended but the food was not very good.
The fillet minion cubes were tender but the meat tasted oily and it is clear, properly preparing fillet minion is not this restaurant's forte. The filet was also accompanied by a generic choice of either white race or spaghetti. Experience at other Chinese eateries has taught me that these types of Asian restaurants do not know how to prepare spaghetti sauce, so I ordered white rice instead. The fillet was also accompanied by bland and possibly canned corn, something the human body doesn't digest. I ordered the mushroom sauce that was far too salty and contained two mushroom slices and did absolutely nothing to enhance the flavor of the meat.
The other dish ordered was beef fried chow mein. The sauce was delicious as was the bok Choy and mushrooms. The beef was chewy and became tough after I brought the leftovers home.
Years ago, this location was a French Chinese restaurant that offered delicious food and was also nicely decorated. The present business has a run down appearance with worn and peeling wall paper located on the wall located adjacent to the back entrance. It is aesthetically not pleasing restaurant.
I will not return to this business as it offers mediocre favored food and is visually unappealing.
One of the most authentic HK cafe in LA. Good Rice Roll and Congee! You will love it for sure if you like MSG. Free refill HK milk tea and coffee!
I recently dined at this restaurant with friends and was very disappointed with the service and their attitude. Our meal cost around $70, and we ordered an additional takeout totaling $89. When we paid with a $100 bill, the staff showed no intention of giving us change and expected us to ask for it.
We left a tip of about $5.80 due to the lack of service; we were never offered more water during our meal. As we were leaving, the manager chased us down to criticize our tip and asked why it was so low. I explained our reasons, and he responded by saying we shouldn’t return.
This experience was really unpleasant, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.
Pretty solid guangdong street food place. Very unique pineapple bun pork chop sandwich; it’s really heavy and greasy but very yummy. The eggplant in fish sauce 鱼香茄子 is very very good as well. Milk tea is cheap but pretty mediocre, would not order again. The vibe is generally very good here, always bustling and family friendly. There is quite a long wait (23 people ahead of us when we arrived) but it goes by really fast and we were seated in 25 minutes.
Hands down the one of the most authentic Hong Kong style cafe in LA: great cafe food, great pricing, and mediocre service. Their chicken steak baked spaghetti, pork chop pineapple bun sandwiches and red bean iced milk drink is my go-to favorite.
