Best WLM Reviews

The food was mediocre especially for a middle eastern restaurant. The cookie-cutter gyros seemed thrown together without much effort, and the fries didn't have much flavor. The people working there were nice, they made the food not too slowly but not too quickly. All over the restaurant there were advertisements for the pita bread caterer, which I found really strange and didn't help the atmosphere of the restaurant.
I have been coming here for probably a decade now, even though I have lived all over the cities and seek out places I can get falafel this is still one of my favorites. Always kind service, and my order has always been what I asked for. Generous portions, and I have never had a complaint about the freshness/ripeness of the veggies. Some people might complain about them using pita 'out of the wrapper', but there are local pita makers that I believe I have seen them use, and yes, they come in a wrapper like other bread! Appreciate you guys, and the fact that your prices and food quality have stayed pretty much the same the entire time I have have been a customer.
Decided to give this place a chance because I love supporting mom and pop shops. Sign on the front said 1292 for gyro, fries and a can soda. On the online menu it said around the same price but you can switch out the fries. In any case it was quite a bit more expensive than I thought it was so prices are a bit deceiving. We ordered a:
2 beef gyros that came with fries. Chicken gyro.
They charge around 92 cents for extra sauce which I think is kind of absurd.
It's cash only!! So be sure to bring cash or else you can't eat here.
Food:
The Euros were good enough, the meat however was really dry. The tomatoes and lettuce seemed fresh. Nothing special about the pita looks like they just took it out of a wrapper. I suggest getting extra sauce because the meat is really dry.
The chicken gyro what's good. Meat seemed fresh.
The styrofoam container of fries we got was utterly disgusting. So $12.92 plus tax so above $13 gets you one mediocre gyro disgusting fries in a can of pop. To me that's not really a value meal. From the business standpoint I can see why they give out so much fries, because they're cheap.
Again the fries were utterly disgusting. Soggy, and overly hot.
There's a lot of other better places to get gyros in the city. For the money, I would probably save your money and go somewhere else.
Hope this place can revamp their pricing, and try to make their meat a little bit more juicy and tender.
Stopped quickly while waiting for a bus. Glad I did! Very friendly service. The gyro ???? I had was prepared quickly, very generous portion and tastes fantastic. Best gyro I have had in a long time. Will be back soon for a meal special when I have more time.
Despite being a little out of the way for lunch (being from South Texas near Brownsville), today I decided to indulge my craving for a gyro plate with rice. The last time I remember eating this type of meal was back in 2008 from a food truck on Wall Street in NY where I sat outside on a small bench sharing rice with the pigeons. Today's lunch was not only delicious, but brought back fun memories. Very authentic...tasted great and friendly service. I would recommend this place if you are in the area and want great tasting gyro.
I love this place and go about 6 or 7 times a month for the gyro meal deal but recently the portions have been getting smaller. Used to be very generous portions and tonight my gyro was tiny. Bummed me out
Another great dining experience at Ali Baba's King of Gyros. Delicious, fresh and flavorful food, the owners are fabulous and my take out order was hot and ready when we arrived. We will definitely be back!
We came in before close not realizing what time it was since we had just got back into town from a road trip. We ordered and then 2 additional customers ordered after us. We were told to wait in our car for our food. The last customer to order got their food first and we got ours last. I ordered the meal deal for $12. I didn’t get my gyro. I paid 12 for a can of pop and fries. There was no acknowledgement of the delay in our food either. I got home to find there was no gyro.
I like this place but was disappointed to not get what I ordered or acknowledgement that the other customers got their food before us.
