Best WLM Reviews
Visiting the area after a very long time not being there, my friends suggested to meet at this restaurant.
Arrived 10 minutes before them and after a long time, the bar tender suggested choosing a table since they weren’t busy at that time.
Picked a suitable table for my friends and I and sat down. For over 20 minutes no one came to welcome or attend to us, so I got up and asked a server “Fernando” to attend to us. We placed our orders for food and drinks and it took even longer to get the most basics like drinks and bread for example. Finally the food arrived and the taste made up for the wait. Was delicious and big portions. We had our meals and asked for the check. Although, I ordered vegetable soup along my order, it never came but was charged in the check. Didn’t make a big deal, paid the check and tipped over 20% and left.
Was more important to me meeting my friends after a long time and enjoying a very good meal and time with them.
It’s worth a visit for the joy of great food.
Service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the MANGO sangria was EVERYTHING. I had eaten some before I realized that I hadn't taken pictures. I had the garlic chicken with the bone, rice, and black beans, and for an appetizer, we had the chorizo sausage. I'm going back just for the chorizo and the Mango ???? sangria ????.
There was an automatic 18% gratuity already included in my total when I received the check. There was also an additional gratuity line if I wanted to tip extra. Their menu states that parties of 5 or more will be charged the automatic gratuity. It was just me at the bar. I did not have the option to not tip. Before I noticed that, I wasn't going to take the time to review the food in detail.
I enjoyed the caldo verde. The pork shoulder was too salty and a bit dry/overcooked/chewy. It had good flavor. The bread rolls were served warm with a good crust and soft interior. The rice and beans were good but I found a bite of pork shoulder with a bite of the rice and beans helped balance the salt level and moisture. I wasn't tempted to take my leftovers to go. I won't be back.
I'm very upset, I've been ordering from Algarve for years, and lately every time I order something comes out wrong. How come I order for takeout and it always comes without a spoon? And I ordered a salad that normally comes with 3 dressings and it only comes with 2? They've become too stingy, they don't want to spend on condiments and they're losing customers. The prices are super expensive, I don't mind paying, but I will pay a lot for something that's at least worth it.
The sangria was some of the best I’ve had. The bread and olives were phenomenal. I had the paella marinera and the crab claw and lobster were extremely overcooked. The flavor was good but I likely would not order again simply due to how overcooked the crab was. It was so dry it was tough. The goat stew was good but not something I would order again. The coffee and dessert were delicious.
Went to Algarve for lunch and was told there is no lunch menu. So we all order from from the main menu. Turns out after we were settling our bill, a patron next to us, orders a steak sandwich that I did not see on menu. To me, its a bit much to ask customers to order from a dinner menu when they are there for an easy in and out lunch without getting a full blown dinner. Shrimp & garlic appetizer was loaded, but the side of rice was a bit mushy. I just prefer rice that fights back !!! Overall, a 5 star, just don't have the time on a half hour lunch. Ample off street parking in rear.
Just waited 1:30 minutes for delivery and this is how I received it the driver must of spilled everything over . And I called the store and the lady Francesca is telling us she can’t do anything for us and we paid over $50.00 for our food and paid for delivery. I think the service is terrible it has half of the juice from the shrimp all over the place driver handed it to us soak and went and we tipped him .
Absolutely one of the BEST food I have had traveling for work. I literally had to call my wife that I think i finally got the right food ordered this time….Damn!!! Foods’ the VERY BEST and I can’t wait to be back in the neighborhood.
