Best WLM Reviews
The best steak I tried in my entire life, without any exaggeration. We got a ribeye, and it was so tender and full of flavor. We also got a steak tartare and chargrilled octopus and both were amazing as well. The truffle fries were a bit too oily to my taste. Expensive, but very well worth it!
All good. But why 3 stars…The ribeye is decent but did not wow me in any way. All the food tasted good but nothing out of the ordinary. For the price point, I expected more than ordinary and not having melted ice-cream which my friend ended up drinking as a shake and me wondering if it ever came with the dessert. I’m definitely not impressed by the taste profile of any of the food items.
Our server was very attentive, with her constantly keeping the table clean of food debris, but another server who brought the dessert literally made my jaw drop for the wrong reason. He simply pour the syrup onto/into the soufflé without checking with us. It made the dessert too sweet to be enjoyed. That was not a good move. He basically brought it to the table and went about carrying out his act without 1st checking with us. I believe he did that thinking it is a show and him providing service but I definitely did not enjoy it. Also, instead of doing that, he could and should at least check and not served melted ice cream to us.
We did come during dinner time, and I am usually not very particular about the ambience of restaurant but it is particularly dimly lit at this place that I could barely see what I’m really eating. Any details could have been missed.
I dined at Alexander's when it was in a different location and remembered it being really good. This time it's not as great as I remembered. Service from Victor was amazing though. The steaks, they were cooked perfectly but underseasoned. We ordered a few appetizers and we didn't care for the short rib or the Jamon iberico with buratta. It was really fun when you get Cotton candy at the end. They're very accommodating especially if you're celebrating something.
It's been years since I've dined at Alexander's, mainly because there are so many other steakhouses in the Bay Area. Last night, we tried the Omakase, their prix fixe menu. While it wasn't primarily fish as you might expect from a Japanese restaurant, it was definitely inspired by Japanese influence.
We paired our meal with cocktails and a great bottle of GSM. Everything was delicious, and we were so full that we had to box up our last entrée and even the cotton candy to take home.
The service was fantastic! Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about both the wine and the food, and he added a wonderful presence to our evening. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but we closed the restaurant with him still taking care of us!
Parking is easy, with street and structure options nearby. It's a great location, surrounded by other restaurants and dessert spots as well.
Fantastic restaurant with amazing service. The food quality is always amazing and it's a perfect spot for a nice celebration and night out! If you don't know what to get the omakase is a perfect choice and very filling. The staff are all fantastic and attentive throughout the whole experience!
The food was phenomenal. Kathleen was great and very knowledgeable on all the menu items. Everything went very smooth and the staff made it a perfect experience.
Very nice restaurant for special occasions. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm. We were seated right away. The restaurant was not busy at that time. We ordered drink and octopus and lobster tempura for starter.
The octopus is so tender. The tempura is unique but not that special.
For the main course, we had A5, F1 wagyu (this one is halal), rib eye bone in and surf, and turf. All are yummy. The service was very good. For dessert, we ordered souffle and strawberry smash. They were yummy. We left with a satisfied tummy. The price is quite high but we have known before.
Its not one of those overly dark steakhouses. The service was excellent. Had the bone in NY strip, wish i had more sauce. The prime rib my friend was amazing with the wasabi horseradish sauce. The cotton candy and bon bons at the end were delicious.
