Best WLM Reviews
Went to the Emergency Care walk-in after dealing with throat pain to the point of vomiting profusely for the past two days. I thought it was stuck good, but I wasn't sure. The nurses were very friendly and got me set up with a room in a reasonable time. X-rays came back in just over an hour and the doctors gave me medication to help relax my digestive tract in hopes of relieving my throat pain. After just a couple hours, I left feeling much better.
To conclude, I'm grateful for the care they gave me while I was there.
Dr Drake and his entire nursing staff, all the way to the woman at the front desk were beyond kind, compassionate and efficient. They knew I had a flight to catch and made sure I was out with enough time to make it. Thank you for such an incredible experience!
My granddaughter been here since 1 am and it's now 7:50 am. It's not packed and you got the next shift sitting around having coffee and talking. This is the worst treatment anybody can receive. I asked this doctor/pa how much longer do she have to wait and his response was, he just got here maybe another half hour. He just sitting there doing nothing. I told my granddaughter don't come back here anymore. These people don't gaf about nobody.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in from an ambulance after a vehicle crash and it took them more than a long time to see and treat me. I was in pain and they only gave me 2 doses and ibuprofen and sent me on my way. I returned after 2 days with excruciating pain and was there for 5 hours. With no medical assistance at all. I got up to leave and instead of showing me an ounce of sympathy, the staff asked me if I was leaving and once I replied yes they replied bye and laughed at me in my face. To everyone who is reading this review and thinks about coming to this hospital please seek better options. This hospital is hell.
DO NOT GET YOUR BLOOD DRAWN HERE!!!!!!!! My fiancé and I frequent this hospital because he has a myriad of health issues and it it the closest to our house (we don't have a car so having a hospital relatively close by was a god send); but a few weeks ago my fiancé had trouble with an IV in his vein. The nurse put it in and began to push meds through when my fiancé complained of a burning sensation in his arm; come to find out the IV wasn't in any vein but was just in his arm. Fast forward to tonight (because there hasn't been a need for an IV during a hospital trip until now) my fiancé has been stabbed with a needle three different times now in the span of a few hours and here is why: the first time some girl was attempting to draw blood and he was trying to direct her as to where would be the best place to get it; not only did she not listen but she just barely got the blood she needed because she couldn't find a good vein, because yet again she refused to listen to my fiancé as well as causing him pain in the area she drew blood (his wrist). Then they told him that they needed to draw more blood, at which point my fiancé became slightly upset and asked them if they thought they were going to need more blood why did they not just simply IV him the first time; after not receiving a clear answer and my fiancé refusing the first time, he came around and let them IV him (he does not like needles and everyone in this hospital is aware of this fact). they took him to get a CT scan and as I was sitting in the room waiting for him to come back he comes back with a nurse pushing his bed while he's sitting fully upright on the bed with an annoyed look on his face. When I asked him what's wrong he told me that the IV was not in his arm to do the CT scan and he only found this out because before they pushed the contrast fluid into his IV he asked them to push saline through first because "something didn't feel right" and what do you know if he hadn't had said that they would've pushed contrast fluid into his body and not a vein at all. Then a Nurse Supervisor comes in and tries and again cannot get it so she yet again for about the third time tonight gets yet another person to try to get a correctly put in IV. Oh and also my fiancé was told that he possibly has a blood clot while all of this is going on and while they take their sweet time trying to remember their medical training which from what I've seen can't have been much. And on top of that they made a big stink about him taking a breather outside because he was having a panic attack over the blood clot news; and told him that even if he does just step outside for a second they would have to discharge him (thank god for the lady who kept him in the system) This hospital is horrible not only at listening and patient care but also at doing their jobs entirely. I'd rather go to Albany med and thats saying something for sure.
Albany Memorial Hospital has the most rudest inconsiderate people working there, i was there for hours and nurses did not want to tend to me at all. There was room with a bed in there and it had no sheets, i asked for sheets and the nurse told me “this is a fast track room so that’s why there’s no sheets, you should be in and out just sit on the chair” and he left right after he said that. i sat on the chair and shortly after i asked another person for a sheet because i was cold and some crackers or food since i was hungry after being there for so many hours . She said she can get me a sheet but they don’t have food . The registration person came in and i explained to her that i am very uncomfortable, cold and hungry and she said she will see about getting me food. She never came back. I called the hospital asking to speak to a manager , whoever i spoke to wasn’t a manager but i explained to her what’s wrong and shortly after that one of the nurses came storming in with an attitude asking me what’s the problem and i shouldn’t be calling the hospital and that i can just press the button. I told her that every single person that came in here i told them that i was hungry and no one came back to me about anything and that’s why i called. She rolled her eyes and walked over to the remote with the nurse button on it and placed it on my bag and left . Shortly after that a guy comes in the room with a sandwich so i thanked him. An hour later im still sitting in the hard chair and i just decided to leave , a woman asked me where am i going and i explained to her how uncomfortable i felt and how rude the staff is and she literally did not even care she just told me where the exit was . I will never go back to that hospital again, that was the worst hospital experience ive ever had!
Whats the death rate here? Cause I'm lucky I didn't die from the lack of medical care I got. Came in on a ambulance from having a seizure just to have 2 more in there room without anyone coming in to see me and it took them 2 hours for the doctor to come see me. Let's say I signed myself out and went other places. This hospital don't care who dies!
Came in with my son after he injured his face, he needed stitches. The E.D. was slow, 2 other rooms were occupied. Nurses and doctors sitting at the desk discussing restaurants and weekend activities...3.5 hours, he is still waiting for someone to suture his face.
Summary: We spent 5.5 hours in the E.D. He was given one shot to numb his wound, it only numbed his lower eye lid. His injury was next to his lip. The PA proceeded to suture him anyway, her first stitch hit a blood vessel, shooting blood everywhere, to which she said "Oppsies." It took over five minutes to stop the bleeding. She placed one suture in his muscles, four inside his cheek (which she struggled to knot because she said it was hard to see the thread, so she kept dropping it), and three sutures to his skin. All of these were done with NO NUMBING. He felt every stitch. She told him it would be more pain to do extra needles for the numbing, so it would be easier to just finish... and he being a 17 year old boy, said just do finish it. He was never given pain meds, not even Tylenol. His external stitches were not enough to close the wound completely. She finished by saying we could just have a plastic surgeon fix it and make him pretty down the road.
We were then asked to wait in the hall for discharge papers. 30 minutes later, still no pain medication and after stiches with no numbing, we decided to leave. I talked to a nurse, she said, ok, well that's fine. We left< i went to get him Tylenol which helped his discomfort. Upon follow up with our primary the next day, they were appalled by the mess of his sutures. Now we face plastic surgery. This was appalling treatment.
