Best WLM Reviews

The stars are for Dr. Rutter only. She is fantastic, personable, and thorough. I sincerely appreciate her for taking care of my mom and me. The office staff sucks. They failed to send me info to sign up for the website after my first appointment and more recently when they switched websites. It's silly. Tell me you don't care without telling me you don't care. I'm finding a different office based on that. One of the ignorant staff told me to go to Urgent Care with strep throat signs. You're a doctor's office, right? What's the point of being a patient at doctor's office if they don't see sick patients? Ick.
I’d give zero stars if I could. I used to see Kristina Blot and she told me for about a year she’d change my medicine and that never happened. When she was removing my nexplanon that she also put in I told her I could feel her cutting with the scalpel to take it out and her words were it’s alright I’m almost done. Got kicked out of the practice for freaking out about the med situation which after a year y’all deserved it. I wouldn’t bring a dying animal here.
I had a fantastic experience today for my initial visit. Doctor Pedrosa and her student took their time to address all the needs I will be requiring. They listened and took action accordingly. I had blood drawn the same day at the lab right next door with results same day. She even called me tonight to go over a medication I needed to make sure I could wait until tomorrow to pick it up. Reception and the nurse we're both very friendly. Overall very happy with this choice of Primary Care
This is far and away the worst Doctor's office I've ever been to in my entire life. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because of how great Dr. Dworsky is, but not even he can ignore the extremely rude staff after extremely long wait times for absolutely everything. The average time to speak to someone on the phone is around 10 minutes and when you get to them they are extremely rude and sometimes actually insulting. One staff member hung up on me after yelling at me while I was trying to schedule a telemed appointment - most of the Doctors can't but Dworsky is an attending physician and actually can. There was absolutely no reason to treat me so rudely, especially after such a long wait. When I finally got there for a physical appointment - the nurse was dancing around while taking my vital signs and actually forgot what they were and asked ME what they were. This was like the bad kids in trouble all the time in Middle School running a medical office. Then I had to wait an entire half hour in the waiting room before Dworsky finally came in. On top of this, their medication refill line is NOT open on the weekends! I called for a refill, saw it wasn't done three days later, called back and they just said "Oh, we didn't do it yet." ???!!! It's supposed to be done the same day! The medication refill line is basically completely useless, they've ignored four messages I've left there, so now I basically just demand to speak to a nurse to make sure it gets refilled - otherwise it won't. Again - IMHO this office's ONLY saving grace is Dr. Dworsky otherwise I wouldn't be putting up with these juvenile antics from adults.
Edit: After speaking with the Patient Experience Manager I'm even MORE upset with this place - she simply views me as a picky demanding patient rather than actually trying to fix any of these problems. She said they purposely refused to hire people to answer the phones. Basically said I need to adjust my expectations. Putting the review from two stars down to one if that's STILL how you're going to treat your patients even after a complaint like this.
You will have to wait on hold 2 hours to speak with the receptionist. As a patient who happens to have years of clinical experience in caring for patients - true medical care does not happen at Albany Family Medicine. Based upon the standards of care I have personally experienced at this office, I believe the blatant failure to ATTEMPT TO PREVENT poor health outcomes is negligent. I strongly believe this practice to be a hazard to the community. Seek competent care elsewhere - your health is on the line.
If I could give this office no stars, I would. Still waiting for prescription since 5/13. This office sent it to wrong pharmacy, then told me I didn't have coverage (wrong). Finally was told, by a rude nurse (?), physicians are very busy and they would get to it when they get to it and since it was non-urgent, I needed to wait until my doc put in her note. And I was instructed that there was no need for me to message them again. This is not how things used to be there. Incredibly disappointed.
BTW Not too long ago, I would have given this practice 4-5 stars. I do not know what happened.
****I was contacted by the office. Had a frank discussion and felt supported in my complaints with reassurances that they would be investigated and that the management definitely wanted to insure that things would improve. Will see next time.
I've been bringing one of my kids here for 14+ years and now my toddler. Sometimes there's a wait but not always. They're a great team and I'm very thankful for their hard work and effort to keep my family healthy and well, especially when there's an emergency. Thanks Alb.Family Practice & AMC !!!
????????????
***UPDATE: 3 weeks later- ZERO follow up to calls, etc. Referrals remain unprocessed. Refills have been sent to the wrong pharmacy or not called in.
My first visit started with the doctor telling me they were leaving the practice in 3 weeks, and I would not see them again. No plan for follow up or further information has been provided.
I needed routine health tests which got missed during corona and still have not been completed. I was assured that the order would be placed and I would receive testing within a few weeks. This did not occur. I could not get ahold of the practice by phone. I sent a message via portal. I was then told it had 'just been ordered.'
I waited a few more weeks. Still nothing. I have sent another message. I have spent over 2 hours on hold with the office this week and have yet to get through to an actual person.
A practice that does not have any way for patients to contact providers, or any defined and working processes for transfer of care when a provider leaves is not providing reasonable access to care or safe and effective care under guidelines.
I also called the patient experience manager at the number provided in other reviews. The call went straight to voicemail
