One of my favorite places I've eaten since I've been in Fairbanks. Pay for your meals at the welcome center, and they give you a ticket, then you bring it over to the food counters and get your meals. The salad bar is endless trips. The portions are big and everything was delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the bar has some great drink choices.
The ordering process was a little confusing at first, but they explained it very clearly and thoroughly! The salmon was cooked to perfection and it was amazing! The Prime Rib was juicy and savory! Will definitely go back!
ate here this june and it was recommended to me to eat here during my stay in Fairbanks and i wasnt dissapointed. It gives you that classic Alaska experience eating salmon and fish. it was a little pricy but its worth it.
$40 Salmon bake in Fairbanks is/was pretty awful. Never mind the lame veggie kabob consisting of one split medium button mushroom, a couple chunks of onion and some grape tomatoes. Really? They had some black beans in salad bar for plant protein but hot sides were anything but HOT. Lukewarm at best. And by the time guests got their entrees it was downright cold. I sampled a nibble of my meat eating companion’s so called “fresh Salmon” and it had a strong musty/moldy flavor. She didn’t finish it. The ice cream was genuinely like home made. That brought my rating up to 2 stars
We go here every visit home to Fairbanks. They have fabulous halibut. Even when it rains they can accommodate patrons. I like that the drinks are refillable now. We are fans of the prime rib as well. Salmon is great, but it is skin on (just in case you have picky children)
Got there right at opening and there wasn't a line. Food was ready shortly after and was all very good. Got the platter to share, and it easily fed 2 people, probably could have fed 3 easily and 4 if you didn't have big eaters. Ate inside because of air quality and it was stifling. A few fans pushing hot air out would have been fantastic, but other than that it was a good meal.
The food at the Salmon Bake is only average, with smaller portions than most restaurants. But, the service is fast and friendly, and the way you order, then pick up the food is very organized. The seating is inside, outside in the Forrest or the open beer garden - great ambiance and place to relax with family or a group of friends.
Recommend for the location and Pioneer park visit.
In Pioneer Park. Plenty of parking. Handicap access everywhere. Family relaxed atmosphere. Visited in early June and the outdoor sitting was most enjoyable. The star dish is the grilled salmon.
