This is a very sketchy RV park. Don't let the name fool you this isn't a resort it is a trailer park. All of the grass is dead and the pool is totally empty. There are a lot of campers here and they appear to be full time residents. There are some sites with trees but those sites seem to be taken by the residents. No grass for children to play on and most of the sites don't even have picnic tables. If you have another option for a campground then take it.
Not really a resort, more like a trailer park. Monthly people don't get cable or internet. Reasonably priced. Mostly long term working people. Clean laundry facilities, the shower house also seemed to be clean. Even being less than a half mile from I-20 not much interstate noise. 1 mile to Walmart and center of town.
Don't expect any courtesy.. even the full timers can't use the gym or pool table after 5pm well early from returning home or tourists after spending money in the town... workers onsite no permission to lock up after 7 or 9 like the pool... just nonsense when you have kids or stay permanently.
Otherwise free roaming, barking dog, nice stay
We stayed in our 40 ft fifth wheel and paid for a premium site. I had asked to be close to the dog park which probably influenced the site we were given. The staff was very pleasant and I have to give kudos to them for having one of the only dog parks where people actually picked up after their pets.
I gave a 3-star rating due to the condition of the grounds and high cost/night. The front area was mowed but the back area where we were was neglected and there are areas where there’s sewer pipes sunk into the ground…can’t say if it was leaking sewage or still holding water from past rains.
Park appears to be primarily long term residents. The old RV’s are primarily in the back.
We had no issues but for the price and the overall condition of the park we’ll look for a different location if future physician visits require an overnight stay.
The location is very convenient to San Antonio and the Hill Country. Even though it is right off I10, it was very quiet and the office was accommodating to our needs. The dog park was an added bonus for our fur babies. Would stay at this location, again.
This is a fantastic RV resort. Two small notes: the water pipe unfortunately broke when we arrived and was very inopportune for our plans as we had been driving all day to make a graduation. It was quickly fixed. The staff was very responsive when the sewage cap we incorrectly installed by the last tenant. The spot had many burrs which was not good for our fluffy dog. Overall the location was great and the staff was helpful.
AFR has easy access to the highway plus all that Boerne has to offer. It is kept clean and well maintained. They have a super cute dog park at the back of the location, a fun recreation area, and a pool. Due to the current housing market we have been full time living there among many others and it works like a week managed neighborhood. Staff is friendly and care about their guests and their well being. They work hard to help us when needed and throw little events and parties. If you're looking for a home away from home or a temporary living spot, start here!
Nice two nigh stay. They held the last pull through for us. Good electric, sewer, and even good tasting water. Delay in route but no problem. Office closes at 5, but Kim in the office, said no problem and came back to the office at our revised arrival time check us in. Wow, they even collect your trash bag at the space (if you get up in time to put it out)
