Small movie place, but it works. Went on a Monday night, but it was a holiday, so it was a little busy. The movie theater room we were in was for about 100 people. The room was clean. Seats were comfortable but some of the seats had recliner seat issues, the recliner feature didn’t work, so we had to switch seats a couple of times-it’s probably an easy fix that the owners should address-the theater is located in an upscale-ish part of town, so small issues like that should really be addressed. Overall nice place that could use a few tweaks to make it better. Food was okay. Standard options- burgers, loaded fries, salad, etc.
Try the Burger Rolaye with Cheese, you won't regret it. It was flavorful and very filling. The fries were also perfectly done and the pickle was also what I expected.
The server comes up to your seat so you can order and brings your food to your seat.
The seats are very comfortable and the screens are huge. Definitely a nice place to watch movies.
Tonight will be my last visit to Alamo Drafthouse. On previous visits, I had not noticed the "non-alcohol tax" applied to the bill. I can only assume that since I and my two underage kids did not order alcoholic drinks, that we were charged this "tax". It actually lists this as a "tax" on the bill. So if I understand correctly, I didn't allow them to profit as much as they would like had I bought high-margin alcohol, so I'm penalized. My kids of course do not drink and what if I chose not to have alcohol based on religious beliefs or due to alcoholism? Wouldn't this tax be a form of discrimination?
To add insult to injury, they have the nerve to ask for tips for the servers, despite the inclusion of an 18% service fee. Are the service providers not participating in the service fees?? Perhaps not and now their tips are being affected because the tip is already included.
No thanks ADH. I can create a much more enjoyable experience at home and save myself the annoyance of unwarranted, confiscatory fees.
I have always enjoyed Alamo Drafthouse, and the service is great. However, the theater was freezing and not much warmer than outside. I am surprised I couldn't see my breath. I had 2 children with me to see Wicked, and I kept having to go to the lobby just to stop shivering. It makes it almost unbearable to enjoy watching a movie. The manager was told, yet it stayed freezing. If it is a maintenance issue, this needs to be fixed.
Really enjoyed this movie theatre! The atmosphere is top notch, they really went above and beyond to decorate for Halloween. The food was delicious
Finally made it out to the Alamo Drafthouse in Stone Oak to see the 80's horror classic The Shining. The theater might be one of my favorites now. The recliners are super comfortable and the service was on point. Adults seem to be the target market of this theater which is an absolute plus. I'll definitely be returning soon.
We caught a pre- birthday movie, Beetle Juice, here and it was a nice atmosphere. The reclining seats were very comfortable and the attached table was large enough for any dish. Our theater was mostly empty but that definitely not a problem. The staff was all friendly. I enjoyed it!
I have been going to this theater for years. I remember when they used to have the box office in the front. Yes, this is a bit more expensive than other options, but the value is evident. The staff is great, the seats are great, and the food is amazing. I love the special events and the swag! ADH has a great culture too. They hire good people.
