Best WLM Reviews
We recently discovered Alamo drafthouse cinema at La Centerra. The seats are pretty comfy and there is full service (food and drinks). We tried a bunch of items on the menu - chicken tenders, veggie burger, bottomless popcorn - regular and w/truffle oil. The food is typical fast food with average taste. The seats are not meant for bigger people and some seats do squeak a lot. I like that the theatre has a membership option and you can collect rewards to get free food and drinks as well as tickets. Service has been great all the times we have gone. It’s easy to purchase tickets using the app. I also like that they have strict rules around cut off times as to when you can be allowed into the cinema hall. It is out of respect to everyone that did make it on time.
The kids enjoy coming here too. This is going to be a regular place we visit!
This theater has been my family’s go-to spot for movie nights for years, offering comfy seating, good food, and an overall pleasant environment. However, after our experience tonight, I’m rethinking whether I’ll return as regularly.
We went to go see Sonic 3, and my mother was running a few minutes behind, arriving just after the movie started. When she tried to enter, the manager stopped her from entering and explained that the theater has a strict policy not allowing entry after 15 minutes into the movie.
I understand the importance of enforcing policies at your establishment, but this situation felt unnecessarily strict. My family and I were already inside the theater and she wasn’t even that late so she wouldn’t have disrupted the experience for anyone. The staircases are located at the back of the theater and the waiters are coming in and out anyway.
Overall, it was disheartening to see the staff handle this so rigidly, especially during the holidays where you would expect more understanding and kindness. The entire situation ended up being embarrassing for my mother, and it left us feeling upset and disappointed that she couldn't join us for the movie. It didn't help that someone in our row had their phone light on for a solid 5 minutes during the movie and that was tolerated but you can't let a mom watch a movie with their family?
While I still think this is a great place to watch movies, I’d advise others to be cautious about the timing, as the enforcement of the “no entry after 15 minutes” rule can feel a bit overbearing. I hope the theater can consider a little more flexibility and empathy, especially for loyal customers who’ve always enjoyed their services.
Super fun night with the girls! We saw Grease - the sing along and it was a lot of fun! I can’t wait to see the next singalong experience! The little gifts at the entrance of the movie theater was really fun to pick up and play with as props during the movie too.
Jul 2024 - nice place to take in a movie with servers to bring popcorn drinks and/ or a full meal if needed with a bar. The seats recline to make it very comfortable to take in a movie.
Love this theater! Service is great and the food is good. The prices are well worth the experience!
I frequent this theater often and it is my favorite one in the area. I like that they have special themes and replay classic movies. The theaters are large enough but not the super massive size, which is my preference. The food has always been good, every now and then when you go at peak times there can be a wait for your meal but this is to be expected. Seats are nice, large menu to choose from and large bar selection to choose from. Out performs in experience, food, and beverages the other competing cinemas in the area.
This was my first time here, although it’s a really cool experience, there was a bad smell on the hallway. When ordering food, it takes them a while to come collect the paper that had our orders on it. The restroom flash system is not very sensitive so it’s a bit messy. I ordered the loaded fries, and it’s pretty good when hot! ???? seats are comfortable. I’ll come back in the future since it’s located at a very nice and convenient area.
Ordered loaded fries and wrote on the paper “No bacon” and verbally confirmed it with the server (as it’s for religious reasons). 10 mins later I get my order and it’s dark of course as it’s during the movie. First bite I take and it tasted off. Turn on phone light for a sec and it’s covered in bacon.
What if someone had an allergy and this is the kind of thing they do by putting someone’s life at risk?
Was my first time here and I probably won’t ever come back.
Also someone had their phone light on for 15 mins during the movie to see their food while they eat. Multiple servers came in the theatre and did not do anything about it. The light was in my face and others in the row. The whole row seemed annoyed. Eventually we had enough and another customer and I complained. Finally an employee came in and had them turn it off.
This Not something the customers should have to do and take away time from their movie. It is the responsibility of the Theatre to enforce their own rules instead of turning a blind eye to it. I’ll stick to studio movie grill.
