I took the Metro to see the movie 'Wicked' today. One of the reasons Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is the only movie theater I go to anymore is that it's very easy for me to from the Rhode Island Ave Metro station and meet my friend who drives and gets free 4 hour parking in the garage.
Alamo is an awesome place for a high-quality cinematic experience. There are large screens, great sound systems, and comfortable reclining seats.
I would give 5 stars, but the food and beverage service leaves something to be desired. The only popcorn option is a giant "endless" bowl that most folks never seem to finish. The Yellow Brick Burger I ordered today was tasty, but it arrived 10 minutes before the iced tea and soda we ordered.
Recently on this past Saturday 8\31. Came for my daughter cheer sister Ursula movie Theme: ???? ???? ???? ???? 9th birthday. Choice of movie was Despicable Me 4. A time was had & enjoyable. Daughter and I both 1st timers experiencing this theater. Everything great ????

1ST TIME had Hennessey lemon drop. Boy oh boy top notch. Definitely will return and come back place was clean.
The screen is big. The chairs are very comfortable. It’s pretty easy access by metro. Parking is also very available.
The 3 star rating is unfortunately awarded. Concession issues are very disappointing. The ordering process is quick. The delivery of drinks and food is notably slow. It’s nice that someone would bring you snacks, beer or eats.
The prolonged wait for delivery makes you suspect you could do better by serving yourself & your group. It’s a great theatre. Hope the delivery kinks get resolved ASAP.
This was my first time at a Alamo at any location, and it i loved the environment! The seats were comfy and the decor was cool. Unfortunately, the chips and queso we ordered came with mostly crumbled chips. However, I asked for a refund at the end and the front desk worker and manager were both very kind and efficient and took care of it easily. Solid service overall. I would definitely come back!
When I found out that an exclusive premiere of Batman The Series from Amazon Prime was going to happen at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema exclusively for their members and at their brand-new Alamo Drafthouse Bryant DC site, I jumped at the opportunity.
This beautiful cinema is in the Bryant DC neighborhood, right off the Red Metro Line stop.
They also a have an attached bar called The Highbinder, which has a cool Happy Hour with many of the drinks and appetizers served during the movies at a reasonable price. I had some white wine, their coliflower appetizers and their mozzarella sticks with tomato sauce. Everything was delicious and served hot.
The showing of the Batman series was three episodes (about 9 min). The show is produced by Bruce Timms (from the original Batman Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited) and JJ Abrams (Star Wars, Star Trek movies). They even had some cool swag for us!
The service during the show was great since you can get food and drinks during the movies. I took some pictures of the souvenirs (T-shirt, Batman masks, key chain etc)
There were a number of issues. First, the drinks we ordered before the movie did not come for a good half hour to 45 minutes, and they weren't exactly complicated. 2 diet cokes and a draft beer. We kept having to ask for them. Second, while what we DID order was long delayed, staff kept slapping down food we DID NOT order, and then quickly run off, so we'd have to yell over the movie to get them to stop, and come back, and get the food to the right person. I feel like they were very much in a hurry, which I can appreciate, but rushing too much, and making A TON of mistakes that then need to be fixed, actually takes a whole lot more time than just slowing down a little bit, and checking your work to make sure you've done your task correctly. The food is definitely at a premium price, the service should be a little better, if you want customers to return. If I'm going to get a few diet cokes, a beer, and some snacks, and get terrible service, I could go to another spot and pay $25 instead of $50. Third, the bathrooms are atrocious. We bought tickets for and saw 2 films. That means we were in the building for over 6 hours. In that 6 hours, the bathrooms were never tended to once. The same trash that was strewn around the sink and on the floor when we arrived was there when we left. My sister reported that one of the toilets in the ladies rest room had no seat. Alamo is a premium price. It should be a premium experience, but at this point, I would settle for an average experience. This was not. This was a crappy experience. The movies were great, though. Too bad Alamo had nothing to do with that. It's unfortunate, it's very convenient, but its actually worth traveling way out of our way for a less expensive, and more pleasant experience, than settle for the disaster that is this theater.
Such a cool experience and so professional. Ordering at your seat is so easy, and the food is amazing. Cute bar lounge in the front with board games available!
I would like to begin by stating that I have dined at this establishment previously, and both the service and food were satisfactory. However, my experience today was quite different. I arrived with my niece and nephew, and we were the only patrons present. Upon entering, we greeted the individual behind the bar, took a seat, and awaited her arrival. Unfortunately, she did not come over, prompting me to approach her to request menus. Eventually, she came to take our drink orders. I asked for water with lemon, which never arrived, and also requested hot tea with honey, but the honey was not provided.
We proceeded to place our food orders. I ordered the vegan burger, which the menu indicated would come with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, and vegan ranch dressing. I requested to substitute the ranch with ketchup and mustard. When my food was served, the sandwich was devoid of any toppings, leaving me puzzled as to how this was deemed acceptable. Furthermore, the ketchup and mustard were absent as well, so I brought this to the attention of another staff member, who took my plate back. Upon its return, while the fries were warm, the caramelized onions were extremely cold. At this juncture, I requested to speak with a manager.
I explained the difficulties I had encountered since placing my order, to which he responded that the caramelized onions were meant to be served cold. I found it hard to believe that a hot sandwich would be accompanied by cold caramelized onions. Following this exchange, he inquired if I wanted my plate returned, but I had lost trust in the food and declined, instead requesting the bill.
When the waitress presented the bill, I noticed a notation at the bottom stating "Comp $45." Initially, I assumed this meant my meal was complimentary, and that the "comp" would be deducted from the total for my niece and nephew's meals. However, upon reviewing the itemized bill, I discovered that my vegan sandwich was listed twice under different names. This resulted in it appearing on the bill and being charged twice, leaving me perplexed as to why this occurred and why they thought I would not notice it.1. In essence, my bill was not entirely waived for $45; rather, it was only covered for one order (the vegan sandwich) and my cup of tea. Throughout my years of dining out, I have never left without providing a tip until this evening. There is a need for improvement in their service.
