Hotel was perfectly located for us with relation to the Honolulu Marathon start line and Ala Moana Shopping Center. Waikiki Beach was just a 20 minute walk away.
Our suite truly delivered on its promise of an ocean view and we enjoyed many cups of coffee out on our balcony taking it all in. We did notice that the room seemed a little dated, but understand a refurbishment is planned for 2025.
When we return to Honolulu we definitely plan on booking this hotel again!
Staff was very helpful and friendly! Perfect location for all the things we wanted to do, and the room was nice! We went for a concert, but also wanted to shop so it was the best option for that. I love that there is a Starbucks in the lobby, and the mall is walking distance so we didn’t need to rent a car! The pool area is very nice too :)
It started off well but from Sunday morning it went downhill a bit. There was a prank call of roomservice (‘needing towels’) to my room at 1:30am. So that really spooked me and I had trouble going back to sleep. The room next to me left their trash right in front of my room, so I pushed it back to their side. The big thing was coming back to my room Wednesday and seeing a full blown criminal investigation going on in the room RIGHT NEXT MINE. I mean full detectives, cameras taking shots of inside, those A/B/C evidence prop cards, big black heavy duty suit cases. I asked if it was a drug bust, they said no but it would be best to stay in my room for the night. Much later after they left, I heard a security guard knock on that room’s door. The next day, I saw a uniformed police with a staff looking around the room as I was leaving for the day. I was really really scared and the manager just kept trying to gaslight me that there was no criminal investigation going on and it was just someone got sick and needed an ambulance. When I came back from the day, I took up on the offer to switch rooms (I was really scared to stay there) and was put in a room 9 floors down. It was a little bit of a down grade as it had less amenities and the toilet paper holder was broken off from the wall.
So the area was great but was just really annoyed and then really scared at the hotel.
Did a staycation with my husband. Wanted to attend the Joy of Sake at the Covention Center and decided to make it a weekend staycation. We loved our time together. Starbucks is downstairs, there are restaurants in the hotel, or we could go to the mall. So many great options at this hotel...love., love, love. We felt the aloha spirit from the beautiful welcome starting with the valet staff who all are amazing as well as the staff who checked us in; super fast and easy. Love the Express Check-out at the end of our stay...so convenient.
We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Pearl Harbour before taking a cruise. ||The resort is very impressive and the location is great. The rooms were clean but could probably do with a bit of a refresh. ||It’s very close to the beach and the shopping centre is a 2 minute walk. ||We stayed here because the price was very reasonable compared to other hotels. ||We would definitely stay here if we were visiting Honolulu again. It made a great base. ||We loved that Starbucks was in the lobby and the staff were very helpful throughout the resort.||This hotel does have conference and event spaces so it can get quite busy in the lobby area but the rooms are quiet
This hotel was listed for the Honolulu Marathon, which my mom and I participated in. From the moment we arrived the staff was courteous, the hotel was clean, and perfectly located close to the race start AND finish, as well as walking distance from Waikiki Beach AND the historic parts of downtown Honolulu. Will definitely stay here again my next trip the Oahu!
Enjoyed the view, employees are very nice and friendly and helpful. Laundry could use updating and repair. Couch very soft. Housekeeping is great! Convenient to the Ala Moana shopping center and lots of restaurants. Walmart is close by. Have enjoyed our stay (2 weeks).
Next year there will be a big renovation at the Ala Moana. I will be excited to return and see the refresh. As it stands the decor does look a little tired, but the housekeeping staff make the rooms shine. They are so nice, respectful, and efficient. They were really lovely. The Ala Moana also has a Starbucks in the lobby, and the baristas were so nice, and were lovely to have a quick chat with.
