Everyone is telling the truth about the BEAN AND CHEESE burrito! I ordered one with green sauce, and I should have ordered another with red sauce. I ordered green chili cheese fries and an "everything" taco, too.
The atmosphere in the small seating area is great because they are bumping oldies tunes! My burrito was exploded when I unwrapped it but that was no matter to me. That means it was packed to the gills, so I grabbed a fork and enjoyed it all the same.
I saw this local restaurant had amazing reviews and I happened to be driving by east la so I had to try it.
The line was super long and I waited for 30-45mins to get my takeout. I’d suggest you avoid busy hours (lunch, dinner time) because I don’t like to wait in long lines. Huge respect to the chefs because they were cooking non-stop for so many orders.
I ordered burrito (combination) and quesadilla (special) to go. I tried it and liked it. I would give it a 4 star, definitely not 5 star quality. It’s quite tasty and comforting.
The price point is amazing though. It’s very affordable ($4-10), considering most restaurants jacked up their prices in 2024.
I can tell this restaurant is a local favorite but unfortunately I won’t be returning because I already have my favorite Mexican restaurants.
Waiting was too long, and I wish my burrito didn't split open before I could eat it lol but it was good. I got a Beef and bean burrito with chips and guacamole (I like my guacamole thick). This one was good, just not thick guacamole. 15 dollars for this meal. I usually go to BILLS Taco Orginal on King bvld or Pancho's Tacos in Redondo for a burrito, but I had to come and try this place heard about it from a friend???? I've never been more disappointed eating at my favorite restaurant Al & Bea's. I've eaten here since I was 2 years old. Never had to received a small burrito from this place and I was charged $7 bucks for it. My whole family has always eaten here And I don't think I'll ever buy here again. Loyal customer for 42 years.
Heard about this place by a friend tried it out today got an order of taquitos,chicken burrito, and a combination burrito..to me the guacamole had no flavor taquitos tasted good the chicken burrito made with white meat had beans and cheese great Sabor the combination burrito also came with beans cheese and shredded meat also great sabor there salsa is the bomb not really a big burrito....for the price it's a good size if your in the area stop by hopefully there's no line .
One of the best spots in Boyle Heights, been a customer for 40 plus years. Best beans in town, quality food and a neighborhood staple. The owner is great and so is the customer service. I like the combination burritos, their hard shell tacos and taquitos, and the Al & Bea’s special. The also have burgers and fries for the picky kiddos, don’t forgot to order an orange bang too!
Authentic burritos, awesome staff, place is full of charm and character. Food is great of course, prepare to wait in line / for your meal
Al & Bea's Chile Relleno Burrito is a must have for me everytime I'm in the area! Nothing beats the homemade flower tortilla and beans. I recommend calling in your order because the lines get long. Remember they are closed Mondays so plan to stop here first! Juicy, delicious, tasty and feels like having a home cooked meal!!!! Thank you Al & Bea's!!!!
