Best WLM Reviews
I’ve been here many times before, the sushi is acceptable. It’s quite cheap so it’s you get what you pay for.
I did get the teriyaki chicken today though, in which all ingredients tasted a bit old, as well as the chicken being slightly undercooked. It was still a good meal, but I’d look at other sushi conveyers before deciding on Akira sushi.
I Might Be a Fish (or a Cannibal), But Akira Sushi Has My Heart
I swear, I go to Akira Sushi so often I’m either part fish or a sushi-loving cannibal at this point. This place is everything. The crab tempura nigiri? Absolute perfection. The pot of tea? A comforting ritual every time I visit. And the calamari? Chef’s kiss—just make sure to enjoy it hot, and you’ll understand the magic.
And the prices? Let’s just say I’ve spent more on bad coffee than I’ve spent on some of my best meals here. You’ll leave happy, full, and with your wallet still intact—what’s not to love?
The best part? If something isn’t to your liking or doesn’t feel as fresh as you’d hope, just let them know. They’re incredibly accommodating and happy to make it right. That level of care and attention keeps me coming back again and again (and again).
Akira has mastered the balance of high-quality food, fantastic service, and unbeatable value. Whether you’re a sushi addict like me or just dipping your toes into the sushi world, this is the spot.
I had yet been to a sushi place that serves on a belt and pay based on the plate. I highly suggest it though! It was so good, I left full and it cost 20.35. That was a pop, tempera ice cream, app and sushi. 3 different people asked what I would like to drink though, so a bit of confusion at first on how it worked or who was serving me but the sizes of and freshness of the sushi rolls themselves was perfect for me.
Food is colorful and fun to pick from, on the carousel belt.
My young girlfriend loves to eat here, so we come frequently. The food is well presented, fresh, and tastes good.
Items cooked to order are also good. We work together with numbers, and carefully do the 'math' to stay within our budget. Most of the time, we've had plenty to eat with the appetizer 'sushis' on the price-colored-coded plates. It's a good and rewarding experience for both of us, and we're usually out of there for under $20 for the two of us, including tip.
NOTE: We always take in our own bottled water or whatever beverage we have going in the car...beverages are ALWAYS too overpriced, no matter where you go, so I like it that Akira Sushi allows outside drinks.
Parking is plentiful, as the restaurant is in a strip mall.
I would give the restaurant a higher rating, but it is what it is. The overall cleanliness of the premises is not so good. The restroom is bad. The language barrier is difficult, but I should expect that (I guess) for an all Japanese run sushi place.
I loved this place. It has the standard sushi conveyor belt of sushi with some dishes that are made to order. It also has fresh fruit and some non-standard sushi rolls like cooked steak.
It looks it’s owned by Chinese family, but it’s fresh, tasty, and very reasonable price. Workers are very nice, restaurant is very clean and bright. The only complaint for me is that I wish the sushi rice could be a bit more vinegary, but it’s good taste anyway. Probably the cheapest revolving sushi in town. I will go back.
Cute and affordable little conveyor belt sushi joint! They are quick and friendly and the assortment of items is large. Bonus, they have online ordering which reflects what is currently available in the store. This is a big reason I miss out on many conveyor belt sushi establishments and Akira makes it possible! Some items like the cheesecake are just okay, but the effort to make many different foods available is appreciated.
It's so hard to get affordable, unpretentious Japanese food in some places, so I was happy to find this place while traveling. Comfort food options, check. Sizable portion, check. Entrees under $10? I'll definitely come back for that.
The rolls aren't long, but they're thick, and the nigiri were large enough that two bites maximized my enjoyment. They give you a silly amount of ginger and wasabi with takeout orders, but that hardly matters when what I'm actually here for is a big honkin' piece of smoked salmon.
