Best WLM Reviews
I absolutely love their food. This is not the first time here at the restaurant and this location. The staff is great and the environment is nice. The food was delicious. I tried a new ramen with fried chicken nuggets and two different sauces. The chicken nuggets were a mystery meat to me because I was expecting white meat but it still was good. The karaage ramen was delicious! I would order again. They serve cans of coke instead of from a fountain. The salmon sushi (2 pc) was great. I always order eel sauce with my sushi. I recommend this location and dishes I tried.
First time going there. Friendly staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. We were shown to a booth. The waitress warmly greeted us. Water was poured in silver cups and our drink order was taken. I ordered an Oolong Iced Tea. I shared that I have allergies so the waitress showed me what I could order from the menu and be safe. I picked up a piece of crispy chicken with a fork. She walked over and asked if I wanted to try the chop sticks with a Learning aid. She asked permission to assist me and prepared the chop sticks for me to use. I sucked at it but gave it a good try. The Beef Ramen was delicious and full bodied: large slices of beef with a soft cooked egg and a lot of other toppings. I think I need more lessons. The ramen and chicken appetizer were both enjoyable as was the Iced tea! I'll have to return to try other options on the menu. Akira was a wonderful dining experience with warm and friendly staff! Shout out to all three employees who assisted me in my first trip to a ramen shop.
Beware of ordering sashimi here, the fish is not labled correctly. I ordered the 3 piece "White Tuna" sashimi and the Volcano Ramen. Service was great, prices were fair, atmosphere was great and Volcano Ramen was good with generous portions and toppings. The sashimi was where it went wrong. It had a different taste/texture for "White Tuna". I didn't think anything of it at the time as it was served partly frozen and assumed the taste/texture was due to it. The next day I had keriorrhea which is characterized by orange oil spots in the toilet, a tell tale sign of digesting the wax esters in Oilfish or Escolar, this often occurs a few hours to the next day and is generally harmless but can cause digestive upset. Oifish is often mislabeled as "White Tuna". It is cheaper, and almost indicernable in appearance with taste/texture being easily confused when frozen. The practice of serving it under a false label is deceiving to the uninformed customer and should be corrected.
Our server was very friendly and the decor is very pretty! I do wish they offered forks if possible for those of us who aren’t well versed in using chopsticks. My friends said their food was delicious, I was satisfied with the sushi but it wasn’t the greatest. Something definitely tasted off about the cream cheese and this is the first dragon roll that I’ve had that I really didn’t like. I’ve had eel before so I know it’s not me, but the eel here tasted very salty and slimy so I ended up picking it all off. Not finishing my sushi and not requesting a box to take the rest home is definitely a first for me. I’d be willing to come here again, but definitely not for the sushi.
Always delicious meals. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and it's all fresh.
I've never been disappointed.
Went back for a quick light meal before shopping at the local grocery stores.
The staff is wonderful. I ran into a few staff outside, near the parking lot and they were still friendly. They are so solicitous while serving, filling water, and checking on us. Every time I go here the food is great.
I love Akira! The service is always fast and the food is amazing. I always start with the Gyoza starter and get the Tonkotsu Ramen as my entree. I like to make it spicy so I always ask my server for a side of chili oil. Out of the 3 locations in the area, the Nottingham is the best!
They are racist and Prejudice in there. I'm a black woman and this restaurant is full of discrimination. I do not recommend you going here.
May 4, 2024 I decided to go to Akira Ramen Restaurant. I normally order on doordash, the food was always delicious. So I decided to sit in the restaurant to eat while I take a conference call for my medical business that I own.
I go inside. The Asian lady at the door greets me, smiling asks me was I hear to pick up for doordash. I looked around and noticed I was the only black person in there. I told her No. I'm hear to place an order. She gives me a menu so I can look through it. So then I tell her no I'm here to be seated and place an order. And I would like to get a booth. I can see booths are empty. So the Asian lady looks around and tell me those booths are for people who are a family of 3 or more. I looked confused, she then suggested I sit in the front near the window and the small table to order. I told her i did not want to sit at a table I wanted to sit at a booth. Then she suggested I sit at their small bar to eat. I tell her again I want a booth not a table. She tells me it's the weekend and it gets busy in there so the booths are for family of 3 or more.
So I felt offended, I said I never had this poblem before at a restaurant . She then says fine and takes me all the way to the back to the last booth.
When I get to the last booth, I see a white woman sitting in front of me at a booth, sitting alone. I asked the Asian woman I said, i thought you said the booths are for a family of 3 or more?
Why didn't she get a hassle of getting seated? Then the Asian woman lies and says she waiting for someone. I Said no she is not, that white woman is sitting alone but u gave me a hassle to be seated at a both I feel discriminated against.
The Asian lady said okay, so sorry. Then she sends over a waiter . The young Asian girl asked me what did I want to order, I told her what I was ordering
As I was ordering the ramen noodles the young Asian girl told me in a smart way I hope you know just because your removing ingredients from your noodles the price won't change. I felt offended again. I said I never said I'm trying to get my price to change. I asked her could I see her manager.
Now my conference call came in. They sent over the manager, which is the owner Hannah is the one who greeted me at the door and discriminated me from sitting at a booth. She lied, but let the white woman sit at a booth alone.
I asked Hannah I wanted to speak to someone above her she said she's the owner. Then she tells me I know ur not on the phone recording me. I said huh, I'm on a call they just called in.
Make a long story short, I stayed because I really enjoyed the food I order on doordash. But I will never visit this location again. I even left them a tip for them to have a better day.
I was so disgusted with how I was treated there. then for Hanna the owner to tell me to come on a weekday she could give me a booth. but didn't give the white woman in front of me a hassle.
